I wonder how many remixes, remakes, edits etc. will the future holds for this beloved track. 10, 50, 75?

On the track: I expect to hear this in a beachbar [select a random country]. Do not like it, not that it matters.
As long as Erik and Armada can make money from it for sure because Ton is no longer involved with this group.

This is nothing compared to this "remix". Absolute shitshow

I remember seeing some of Erik's comments on Twitter about it, probably not much of a surprise when I say that he was furious (because yeah, this is literally just the original with a few minor changes).

so what? 2nd hour is Armin from Ibiza and it's the same stuff as in the 1at hour by Hardwell, does it matter who presses play? :)
Well, yes it does matter who presses play because believe it or not he does have an influence positive or negative on Dance music and specifically trance music and how he is trying to blur the genre onto other genres and failing badly too.

but he didn't begin it now or even 10 years ago, and frankly I don't see what's wrong with genres fusing into one another, if it's still good music. certain trance subgenres like 138-140 uplift or 128-130 anjuna stuff (these are mostly the "trance" you get to hear on asot these days ironically) are fuc*ing stuck for like a decade and a breathe of fresh air in there could be a better thing.

after all, "Armin" does not equals "Trance" anymore, he had that influence back in the days but I don't think he has any of it now

if certain producers have their goal to make music that Armin would play on asot and thus could easily be influenced by changes in Armin's taste in tracks selection or guests choices, they aren't "trance producers" really, they're "Armin fanboy producers", be that way, who cares

Genres were fusing a long time even back when the genre merged together, producers were still experimenting with different sounds there is nothing wrong with that and it's not that I am concerned. There is nothing fresh about hearing tracks which sound super annoying to the ears or sound soulless or are flat out boring and bpms have nothing to do with it and when you bring on talentless hacks like hardwell and people who have far more talent and skill have to suck his dick or steep to hardwell's low skilled productions that's what I have a problem with . There is a serious lack of QUALITY euphoric, melodic or progressive trance compared to what it used to be in the past. I mean most of high bpm stuff is just noise to me and the slow stuff sounds extremely templated there is the odd good stuff here and there within progressive but the euphoric tracks are non existent. This is not about who cares, and people do care otherwise we wouldn't have genres or things being genres and it would be a pointless venture. I disagree, Armin does have an influence on the Trance genre, just look at Tiesto. You know when you look at Tiesto you think of Trance you think of In Search of Sunrise and you don't see him as a EDM DJ or producer at all do you?

that's correct for me you're right, but I can see this very subjective and depending on our origins, if you take younger generations, especially in US, for them Tiesto is the guy who produced Business, Jackie Chan, Red Lights and all the other EDM hits, he has quite a lot of them, it's just the part that's not on our radar.

after all, my taste is just my taste, it's not the universal criteria for right and wrong

But that's not what really made him famous though the trance sets and compilations and ghost productions he did is what made him famous. Those hits in the US are just a bi product of what he did in the past originally.

Have a look at the comments on IG on Armin's new track they think it''s Trance meets R&B meets shitty western influenced Indian music

Even on Armada's website they use the label of "Trance"

Obviously most people now don’t think of Tiësto as trance.
Those hits in the US
In the Netherlands Tiësto’s first number 1 hit was The Business…. his second number 1 hit was The Motto.

Even in his home country, his trance hits didn’t get the top spot.

Armin his first and only number 1 hit is “How Het Danst”, with national vocalist Maan (the voice winner) and another national singer. His second biggest hit is This Is What It Feels Like. Then Sunny Days.

So yeah, if you ask random people on the street, they really won’t mention Flight 643, Shivers, Suburban Train, Communication, Serenity.

That’s only big for us, the trance purists hehe.

The beauty of trance music, to me, has always been the variation, the melting pot, the drawing from different inspirations. Progressive, tech, deep, psy, I love it all, and I love seeing the genre evolve.

That’s why I’ve always passionately disagreed with anyone who decided their definition was the only one, and attempted to force the rest of the world to comply.

Never listen to anyone who tries to talk down to you telling what trance is. After 25 years of dedicating my life to this style of music, it’s more a feeling than anything that can be defined by people in a comment section. 🙏🏻

Umm, we didn't kill the genre and the genre has always has had various styles, sounds and experimentation since it's inception so what's his point? That he is better than us?

was it ever strictly about the sounds used? it's the overall quality of ideas, including melodies writing, sound design, structuring etc

ironically, some of the "tranciest" sounds - supersaws, default sounding 16th plucky riffs - are often a sign of a generic track with no individuality (see 80% of modern uplifting releases)

Personally to me it was always about how the tracks sounded and felt to a normal human. Those are just terribly produced tracks just have a listen to how well made the older tracks were made. You can tell that majority of them were made to be tested
Tries to make his music sound better with a load of fancy lasers....
You think that's bad have a look how ironic this comment looks from him. Ahem Concrete Angel???

Too many if you ask me.

Back in the days when they used like 2 green ones and 2 multicolored (Tiësto in Concert), they had an amazing atmosphere.

More isn’t better. Transmission takes it too far as well…
