Nothing special that would stand out but good bang for few listenings .. kinda wish he would team up again with Sam Jones and did something like Rotavator or Wipeout again

Haven't listen to Simon in a very long time.

Somewhat hard to judge from the sample, but it seems somewhat generic. Maybe the full track will be better?

Well, since he stopped using a ghost producer, his tracks have been bland and lacking something....

did he? rather resorted to someone worse. that riff at the beginning of the beatport sample is the definition of talentless and forced melody. the whole sample feels absolutely uncatchy and directionless, that's not music really, just a bunch of sounds glued together

Yeah he hasn't been doing stuff with Dave for a few years now. He talked about it on the ASOT Podcast :):

Simon does know about production, as he confirms in the Podcast, there are also photos of him working on tunes on his Insta. Since Dave is always credited on Simon's earlier tracks, for me it's more of a co-production than him using a ghost :)

some ghost production services will send you the track project and even take care to make it run correctly on your computer so you can show off "your" production on insta. Marie Vaunt is a great example

but yeah this one sounds so hopeless that I can imagine that's Simon's best solo effort

Probably just a remote session from GP's desktop then full screened with suspicious camera angle just in case

Just heard more of the track on today’s episode of a State of trance. I have to say my opinion of it has gone up. It’s actually semi decent. Still pales in comparison to Simon‘s older work though.

I can respect Simon for wanting to go about doing his own music without Dave, but it is objectively a significant downgrade. I was not impressed by anything he put out in the last 2-3 years.
