First played in 2019. I'm sure this updated version will get a lot of negative attention here, but I'm glad Ferry decided to release this version for his fans at least.
Misses a bit of low for me personally. Besides this fact, I really like it. One should not compare it to his Barber's remix think...

It's a similar deal like From The Heavens mixes from Gouryella album (2017) of his classic tunes like "Ligaya" or "Tenshi". Solid refresh, not something that could beat originals (guess it wasn't even Ferry's points). Interesting curiosity to check but nothing more to me.

It's average at best. The little magical elements that made the original so great, are removed. Like the little spacey FX swooshes from the original.

I do understand the need for a rework though. The original doesn't have the easiest build and outtro, so it's not the most pleasant track for mixing.

I don't understand though why this is released as System F. He said himself that System F is an alias for "party trance".

The old remix he did of Adagio For Strings is one of my all-time favourites. Whether as a standalone listen, or within a set, it crashes in and tells you to stop what you're doing. It's always created a story in my mind as it plays out, like a storm sweeping through a fantasy, with gorgeous light appearing within the break. The cliche that I don't care is a cliche.

This version feels like a flaccid, post-coital scribble on a post-it note, rather than the beauty that Ferry is more than capable of producing.

I found it a nice touch that William Orbit played the (original) Ferry Corsten remix at the end of a set he did recently for Anjunadeep Worldwide (not even slowed down or edited):

I liked Ferry's 1999 remix but always found it over rated to be honest. It got so much attention and that made it a big chart hit. William Orbit was also a massive name at the time and Madonna's producer. But for me the intro and outro were pretty basic. The main riff, although well constructed and produced, wouldn't have required that much imagination considering the raw material (Samuel Barber's Adagio) was so good. Also, trance was so much the sound of the year at the time that it was kind of inevitable it would be well received.

This version was made for his sets, espcecially System F special sets. For me its the second best version, still far away from his 1999 masterpiece, but its not that bad!
This is also the last goodbye to trance from Ferrys side. He decided to discover further the progressive and deep house genre and leave trance, except for his WTF shows, where he plays a bit of his Gouryella and System F classics.

That's offical from him is it? Always sad to see a master of a genre make these decisions but I understand as artists they get bored and want to move on. However, he will be lost in a sea of noise changing to those genres and won't make any impact. I predict he will be making Trance again in 3 years.

Just hang up the headphones.... too few make that sensible decision. I always find it a big cring 50 + DJs playing to teens and twenties somethings but they just can't give it up....
