I've played games since before I could walk (almost) and I still love the rush of finishing a game, discovering a hidden gem or just by playing through some of my older favourites (Looking at you Heroes of Might & Magic 3, Diablo 2 and Supaplex)

What games are you currently playing and enjoying at the moment? It can be old or new, PC or console, it doesn't matter.
You can also post a happy/sad memory regarding a game or even a soundtrack if you feel like it. This is for everything gaming related.

I just finished the newest Tomb Raider trilogy and currently playing through Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.

Escape From Tarkov.

The game doesn't really have much of a point or a story, but boy is it done well...

I still find myself listening to this banger of a soundtrack from time to time. This soundtrack is pretty much my entire childhood

I play Mario Kart 7 time trials competitively. As for newer games, I'm really excited for the next chapters of Deltarune.

Haha this great. When you say competitively what do you mean exactly? Mario Kart original was one of those all time best ever games for me, growing up with my N64 and competiveness. I also loved the first Wii version and have yet to play another one!

Yeah I've heard it, the MK7 community has been talking about it a lot. Apparently Nintendo themselves have released a statement about it.

By that I mean that I submit my times to the (unofficial) Player's Page of the game (here's my profile if you're interested), which is connected to the (also unofficial) world record site. I enjoy playing MKDS, MKWii and MK8 too, and I've been thinking of trying MK64 out someday.

Just started playing Deep Rock Galactic - extremely addicting game with a pretty nice community. Fantastic co-op game

Currently playing through The Last Of Us 2, and I have to say.. I really don't get all the hate for this game.
Sure there's been some surprising moments here and there, but that doesn't make it a bad game. On the contrary, this is what I've been waiting 5+ years for.

Best.Game.Ever! Still playing it from time to time, always choosing Kyrre as my starting hero. There is still a big community which developed the game even further - for example there is a HD Mod which allows for a much smoother gameplay. I highly recommend MeKick's challenge videos on youtube. He does some crazy challenges like using tier 1 units only, just one stack of units on each hero or to search for the grail first before being allowed to attack any opponent. On maximum difficulty of course, so without any resources at all to begin with. He also provides great commentary, so if you have some time (some of them are >10h) or just need some asmr triggers for going to sleep, this is definitely a must watch/hear. :)

Any sim drivers here?

Grew up on CMR. NFS, TOCA series and later GTR2, GTL, P&G V2, a bit of RBR.
After a few years off, I got an Xbox and a Logitech G920 wheel with FH3, Dirt Rally.

After having built a pretty nice PC, I changed from Logitech to Thrustmaster T-GT wheel and really enjoy ETS2 with all map DLCs + various map mods.
For racing I have Assetto Corsa + mods and PC2 + Hugo Vai's FFB Mod.

I honestly can't tell you how many hours I've spend on this game - some of my favourite gaming memories are with this game; Me and five other dudes sitting way to tightly in a small room, sweating our balls off waiting 5 to 6 minutes for our next 30 seconds turn. We could play this game all night and then meet again next evening to do the same thing all over. Seriously, this game is absolutely timeless despite its stiff mechanics. The overall atmosphere, simplicity and tone is a 10/10 for me.

God damnit, the amount of times I've yelled at myself when playing Assetto Corsa - that game is not good for people with high blood pressure. It's a fantastic game, but I enjoy Project Cars 2 more though because its easier to get into. I do not have a wheel or anything, which definitely doesn't make it any easier.

Nah but I'd love to try it. I like the arcade racing games personally as the cars are easier to steer without a wheel. Played through NFS Most Wanted and Carbon a few times and think these were the peak of the genre. They were just simple enough and fun to play. NFS tried replicating that in their latest games, but I don't think either of those were a success.

Of the latest ones, Forza Horizon 4 is very fun, although a bit flashy, marketed to teens and at times annoying. The car sounds are just horrible in FH4. I don't think I've seen a game that has the proper RB26DETT engine sound from a Nissan Skyline GT-R R34, and that bothers me a lot. Kills a lot of enjoyment. Plus, the sounds are a bit flat and possibly over-processed anyways.

Also, loved Test Drive Unlimited back in the day. I would just get into a car, play some trance and cruise around the beautiful island of Hawaii. TDU2 should've been better in every way, but it just didn't click with me. I somehow prefer the original, even though TDU2 had the island of Ibiza + Hawaii (but improved), had more roads, newer cars, better graphics... Maybe that's just nostalgia.

Assetto Corsa is far too difficult without proper equipment, Project Cars too - it's no fun at all. Same goes for rally games. Would be more fun if I had some equipment, and I'd definitely play them more often.

Personally love cars, and I've played quite a few different games. Car Mechanic Simulator 2018 is a brilliant one (although not perfect). Gets repetitive after a while, but you do learn a lot from it.

Have to agree on the FH4 sound matter. Actually FH3 has way better car sounds than FH4 :D
And how could I forget TDU.. Loved that one!
Just recently they've started teasing TDU3. Let's see how good will that one be, with promised 1:1 scale authentic island!

ETS2 is really addicting and relaxing, my favourite for playing Trance during the long journeys, graphics slightly dated/retro, but still very nice.
They keep developing and adding new maps + features although it came out in 2013. Great developers and quality modders too.
Really recommend you to try this one :)

Feel for you buddy. Have high blood pressure too, it really sucks.
The Logitech G29 / G920 wheel is pretty cheap and reliable. ETS2 is very relaxing, I really recommend this one, it also support internet radio and mp3... :)

^Ha, I don't even have high blood pressure, but when I play that game I do - with a controller it's like brushing your teeth with barbed wire; Painful and frustrating!

So, new gameplay from Assassins Creed: Valhalla and well... it looks like a worse version of The Witcher 3, not sure I'll be getting it.

Yeah I've seen that about TDU3, just today. I'm not having high hopes - they won't emulate the feel and vibe of the original, and I fear they might overdo it, especially with microtransactions, being too flashy to keep attention and whatever else is trendy these days (just like FH4). I just want it to be a game that I could play if I wanted to have uninterrupted cruise around the island, discovering its great locations without being interrupted by being prompted to jump over a valley or drift or go over a speed limit for a certain amount of meaningful points. I also, of course, want to be able to race if I want to. Customization (but a relatively realistic one) would be pretty cool too!

Don't get me wrong, FH4 is fun because there's so many things to do there, but I don't want another game like that.

Euro Truck Simulator? Nah thanks. Not a fan at all - I prefer cars and not driving carefully all the time. :D
