You do have to pay for online. :) You need Playstation Plus which is 60EUR (if I remember correctly) per year. That package includes online, tons of discounts on the store and 2 free games each month.

Was it always like this? Swear Playstation had free online at some point? Either way that sounds cheap enough for me

Yeah, it used to be free, but that was changed. Don't remember exactly when.

Multiplayer was/is free on PS3 (is, in case there's still any game servers online). PS Plus was launched with PS4.

As far as I know, this was way later than on Xbox though (an entire generation in fact), as I believe Xbox Live Gold was required to play online on X360.

Got AO Tennis 2 this evening (AO = Australian Open). Been playing it for almost 7 hours straight! One thing I absolutely loved about the first part - and this one as well - was the fact that it's not very arcadey (unlike the Virtua Tennis series). Players have different styles, and there's no single strategy or type of shot that works the best - you need to figure out how to play. Shots (especially good ones) take some effort to pull off - it's not easy! And that's what makes winning points, games, sets and matches that much more rewarding! And losing them all the more stressful.

Career mode seems very good so far. Will see how it progresses, but it looks very promising right now.

It does ask quite a lot from you mentally. You need to be concentrated all the time (if you want to win). Honestly, of all the sports games, this one feels the closest to its real-life sport.

That said, it's not perfect. It doesn't have a lot of pro players and licensed stuff. And it's got some pesky (and some not as pesky) bugs.

The lack of pro players can be disregarded if you play career mode, which is what I recommend anyways.

Something for you tennis buffs? @BladeRunner_ @Progrez

Maybe after I get a job because I lost my previous one and we are under lockdown here like Stage 4 and only 1 person is allowed to venture out.

Pretty addicted to Multiplayer on the new Call of Duty right now. This is the first one I played properly since about 2014 but man I am loving it + I am extra badass, very rare I do not finish top which of course adds to the satisfaction.

Wait, your wife lets you play games? How is that achievement even possible?

I dont understand current gaming sometimes. Last night I have friends over and each of them brings a controller, yet playing 4 player (even 2 player) seems an almost impossible task and took literal hours of navigating the shockingly abysmal PS4 interface/UX just to be told its impossible on almost all the games we tried, which included COD, Fall Guys, Tony Hawks, Racing Game.... We all pay so much money for the games and playstation accounts yet living room gaming with friends has been completely removed from the experience, which just pisses me off.

Some of my best memories of gaming is playing alongside or against friends/family, how is it in modern gaming with all this revenue cannot get basic user needs right, on something that we had for decades growing up. I cant even enjoy games with my own mates ffs.

Well, they all need to bring their own PS4s, each pay for their own copy of the game, possibly pay for PSPlus or whatever it is these days, and play on multiplayer.

Some of the best gaming I've ever had included like 4 of us. Simple games like Moorhuhn Kart make up most of my childhood gaming memories. Also the NFL but that's now and with my friend and we split offense/defense in a campaign.

Yeah we ended up playing Fifa, which was easy and exactly how it should be.... connect the controller and start to play. Shouldn't that just be normal?. Can you believe that games like SSX don't even offer 2 player multiplayer with a friend? It's beyond a joke...and they call themselves gaming companies.

And yep everyone owned each game we were trying to play (pretty much) and everyone has PSPlus accounts and was signed into their individual home accounts (which was a nightmare to do). Really disappointed with the PS4 experience since moving over from Xbox (which is also pretty shit on this stuff). I don't understand how companies of this size and experience cant even put together a passable operating system. The UI looks crap and the UX is so painful to use.

I agree with you there. These are fantastic games with many wtf moments. In the last part the batmobil part is too big for me, but still a worthy conclusion of a great trilogy.

By the way?
Has anyone pre-ordered the PS5 or X- Box series X?

I agree, at the beginning it was rather heavy on the batmobil, but by the end I didn't mind it. All in all I think it's one of the best trilogies and the ending of Arkham Knight is just flawless.

Now.... well, time to get back to Factorio
