Got
AO Tennis 2 this evening (AO = Australian Open). Been playing it for almost 7 hours straight! One thing I absolutely loved about the first part - and this one as well - was the fact that it's not very arcadey (unlike the Virtua Tennis series). Players have different styles, and there's no single strategy or type of shot that works the best - you need to figure out how to play. Shots (especially good ones) take some effort to pull off - it's not easy! And that's what makes winning points, games, sets and matches that much more rewarding! And losing them all the more stressful.
Career mode seems very good so far. Will see how it progresses, but it looks very promising right now.
It does ask quite a lot from you mentally. You need to be concentrated all the time (if you want to win). Honestly, of all the sports games, this one feels the closest to its real-life sport.
That said, it's not perfect. It doesn't have a lot of pro players and licensed
stuff. And it's got some pesky (and some not as pesky) bugs.
The lack of pro players can be disregarded if you play career mode, which is what I recommend anyways.
Something for you tennis buffs?
