I recently sat down with Rolf Ellmer a.ka. Jam El Mar in his beautiful studio. For this week’s vlog I did an in-depth interview with him, about the story behind “Stella”, a legendary classic which he did together with the late Mark Spoon as Jam & Spoon.

Another legendary track that was completed in a single day. Also one that uses a popular sample for its foundation, a reminder again of how much sampling played a role back then and why it's such a shame that the luxury and freedom around using other musicians work is so restrictive now.

Voodoo Child was also the first record (CD) I ever owned too!
