The story behind "Signum feat. Scott Mac - Coming On Strong" by Ron Hagen [Interview]

Signum is a project from Dutch DJ and producer Ron Hagen. In the first 10 years of Signum, Ron worked together with Pascal Minnaard on all productions and remixes, but since 2007 Ron is the main man behind Signum.

In my previous interview with Ron, we already discussed the Signum classic “What Ya Got 4 Me”, but of course I was also curious about the story behind the track “Coming On Strong”. Which was a track from Signum, together with Scott Mac. So in this week’s vlog you will hear the story behind “Coming On Strong”.

Enjoy and thanks for watching!

Glad to see you here Twan. Your interviews are great!
Maybe one day you'll have the opportunity to interview Dennis Sheperd?

Thanks so much for the kind words! Since these interviews take a lot of time, I'm pretty picky when it comes to what I do. I always try to focus on big hits from the past or well known classics. I have a very long wish list with more than 50 people I still hope to interview one day. Due to the pandemic a lot of my plans got screwed up, so for now (there are no gigs / events) I can only focus on people based in The Netherlands and I'm currently not really doing "requests". More to come for sure, but COVID didn't make things easier unfortunately. BTW, big trance name confirmed for later this year, someone who hardly does interviews!

Ahhhhh and I win the pot. Nice one.

Edit: Will be difficult choosing something though. The obvious is of course Airwave. But (hopefully you make more video's with the 1 interview) you can also chat about other huge classics like Such is Life or Awakening. Even LED There Be Light would be interesting to have a chat about.

Oh yeah Twan: I seem to be the only person noticing and caring about this... but... in their track "Paris Nice Cannes" on Spotify.... I'm 100% sure the lyrics go:

"Paris Nice Cannes. Alles kan. Paris Nice Cannes, Koffie kan".

You have to ask something about that......

For sure, but for that one it would be great to have Piet in the interview as well (the 2 of them together). For Benno "solo" I have some other (non-Rank 1) tracks in mind as well such as "Dutch Force - Deadline", "The Quest - C-Sharp" and maybe something from the Kamaya Painters and Jonah as well. I think I could come up with at least 6 or 7 tracks, but that would be way too much, so maybe 1 or 2 or 3 now and then another time some more ;-) If I post like 5 interviews with one person in a period of 3 months time I can tell people start losing their interest and that's not what I want ;-)

Stay tuned ;-)

Benno is an amazing producer indeed! So fingers crossed there will be 1 or 2 interviews with him (and hopefully 1 with him and Piet) later this year ;-)
