Those people that are laughing don’t value their own creative work.
how smug one could be.. I mean, man you're making 4x4 electronic dance music, it's not a triple A game or a movie or a book. It's simple work, it really is. And it costs that low because a lot of people can do it. and now even AI can do it.

yeah, his little 'get rich making music' course will surely change the direction of how it's going, I am definite about it, thank god we got him caring enough to save the industry

Regarding the 1000 dollar price mentioned above, i've seen it before on other bandcamp releases.
Here's an explanation by reddit, because none of you geniuses considered looking it up:

Regarding Thomas Datts pricing - delusional. The track sounds ok but 11 dollars for a single mp3 is a piss take.

Why not just price it for 5 dollars on BC? I'm sure he'd sell more copies?
How could Peak Experience do that?

How could Peak Experience do that?
In this case, they added the vinyls to "merch" section of their bandcamp profile page, and then assigned them to the individual releases (and then the purchase options button just scrolls down to it.)

Its not explicitly using the release page itself to list the purchase options (in which case you need to add a digital buy option - forcing the 1000 dollar workaround).

Here is another vinyl only label that does the same:

Those people that are laughing don’t value their own creative work. The music industry is in a huge pile of shit right now. Artists don’t make money for their time and effort. Exposure doesn’t pay the bills, neither do record labels, neither do Spotify plays.

I’m launching a new masterclass very soon on how to make money on music. It will change some things I’m sure of it.
Even if I understand where this mentality is coming from, solving this issue by ludicrously bumping up the price of your productions is not a solution in my eyes. Especially combined with the "valuing your own creative work" comment, it comes across to me as if he's blaming the fact that he doesn't make enough money from his music on his listeners as opposed to the industry itself. If he had released this on Bandcamp with a normal pricing (say €2, maybe €3 if he feels like it), I'm pretty sure he'd be making the same statement whilst making the same money (due to more people listening to his productions).

Do appreciate that he does actively seem to want to make a change using his masterclass but if he really wants support, there are much better ways to go about it.

Really like his tunes. When watching him on the videos, I feel like I'd end up hanging from the ceiling if I watched him DJ. Put Darren Tate on the same lineup and I'd also self-combust.

Oh the memories, the original is really really nice. I miss trance like this.

His older tracks contain some nice soundscapes

It's good that this version differs so much from the original and comes across as a new, original work, I liked it

Hope he runs some sort of promo discount later on to maybe £20-30 for the wav file (highest bit rate available 16/24) and promote it properly in advance to gain maximum support from loyal trance fans. That would be a perfect move to avoid further controversy around one his most popular track, maybe he has already planned something like that, maybe he might consider this option after reading this comment. Its just a suggestion and no obligation to refund existing purchases if its a promo discount.

Ive liked some of his older tracks, hes a decent producer - but when ive seen his recent social media posts,he seems a bit strange - almost like a 'hippy' into all that chakra stuff - something i dont really understand. So it just makes me laugh hes asking so much money for this - all i can assume is hes trying to make as much money from his 'name'.....which has been popular, but we are talking years ago now.

It reminds me slightly of when Trance producers set up a 'Patreon' page which asks members or fans to pay a subscription every month - but in reality,as a Trance producer, what can you offer EVERY month for a subscription fee?? The obvious one is giving away free tracks or early access to stuff..

Even i tried to set up a Patreon page, but i really struggled with thinking of what i could offer fans EVERY month.....have any other producers on here tried to do it? It could be a good revenue stream, but you have to be clever about it....
