I think the discussion is getting off-topic; they're not writing about music. Many of the comments here are about Thomas Datt's life or how expensive the song is, but that's really far removed from the actual topic.

Does anyone really care what Thomas Datt does with his life? Because I don't see anyone criticizing Armin van Buuren or Tiësto for being married and having children, even though their productions are practically garbage.

If you think the song is expensive, go to Beatport and see all the garbage that's less than 5 minutes long and a complete disaster for trance... and it's being released by record labels like Armada Music, Black Hole, Spinnin', and many others... each track costs $1.50+tax, and if you want a lossless file, it's $2.50+tax...

If you think the song is expensive, then go and tell the artist... don't expect someone else to do your job for you.

You like the song but can't buy it... we understand, but don't criticize the artist's life just because you can't buy their song... it says more about you for not being able to afford it than about the artist themselves.

Be reasonable.

I understand having unreleased tracks to share, but my point is you have to offer something EVERY month,or a member isnt really going to pay every month for nothing hehe. Im just thinking how do other industries work on Patreon..

Happy to support Dattyboi in away that makes sense, but he's quit and come back, no joke, 5 times in just the past three years. Pick a lane brother. It's a shame too because it's not good for maintaining a fanbase and he's only really released this, and two remixes in the past few years. All of which are great mind you. But the drama, and the space cats, and the will he won't he... over it. @Magdelayna yeah dude, the socials are bonker and the space cats lol.

There are two reasons to "announce" quitting instead of actually quitting: for big commercial artists it's cashing out with a farewell tour (or a couple of them lol), for bedroom folks it's seeking attention, basically wanting someone to say to them "oh noo you're so talented, please don't quit". we've seen that with Soundlift and a couple others. So as long as at least one person (gotta be you in this case) cares, counts the amount of him jacking the quit/return switch, he'll keep doing something like that to get what he wants - attention. It's never about the music at this point.

The Rob Nickson remix of this 2v2 from 03/04 is in my top 10 all time trance tracks. An absolute monster that will always hold a place in my heart.

I agree its for attention in the main...i dont believe a bedroom producer can 'retire' anyway haha. Its a hobby in the end..
