Can't imagine having a president like him. Just picture it. Mark Rutte smacking somebody in the face, Mark Rutte suggardadding with some young girls in bikini, Mark Rutte throwing another guy over a desk... I would be so embarresed for my country.

m8, what are you on about?

Rutte having the balls too:

- smack Verhofdstad in the face,
- pimp daddying chicks in bikini @ skiffaboulevard on his granny bike
- Throwing Grapperhaus over a desk for his absolutely retarded Covid wedding actions.

would be the absolute pinacle of awesomeness :ROFLMAO: hell he'd get my vote (for once)

No wonder americans are hated by everyone. Thats fucking nuts! I mean food is food, why not eat what was in the fridge?
I wouldn't be surprised if there's a sizable population of Americans who can only eat stuff that is extremely fatty/greasy and drink soda ("pop"/Coca-cola etc.) instead of water. We have lots of people like that in Mexico, too. I guess they never learned about proper nutrition or grew up eating fast food and pre-frozen microwavable pizzas. Coincidentally, those people wouldn't eat vegetables because they never got used to their taste, think they're too bland, or have no clue why they're beneficial.
It goes without saying that not all Americans are like that, especially the more educated population.

Dude, when I watch illegal NFL streams, 60% of the commercials are about food, and the rest about insurance. Big Whopper, Dominos, KFC...delivered to your car, delivered to your door, 2 for 5$, buy one get one free... Full of processed and really addictive stuff. You can't blame 'em, if they grew up on it, they got in a vicious cycle. It's convenient and addictive. Cooking and making your own meals in general takes time.

That culture exists in every country but certainly it's amplified it America. America has a poor education system that doesn't raise people to live healthy lifestyles, including eating healthy. fast food and crap like that is very local to vulnerable communities, the food is cheap vs healthier food, its more convenient than making a good meal and people are overly exposed to marketing. Plus there is a lot of push back from people who feel threatened when the government or people in general try to promote healthier eating. There is this perceived threat of trying to take away people's freedom to choose. And also the food industry has huge lobbying powers too.

there's a trend on the rise though, especially in the more avant garde areas of the states (Austin, Reno, San Fran) of biological and healty eating and the market seems to play into it/amplifying it. A good example is wholefoods for instance (texas company) and its succes throughout the rest of America.

Correct. At least Austin and San Fran are more for professionals, though, and Whole Foods is more expensive than other grocery chains (NYT article on Whole Foods prices). The options are there for those who can afford them. The issue really is a combination of @brandonl's claims and poverty.

oh sure its not there yet by a long shot, but things are starting to look up slowly but certainly:

for one, its no longer "cool" to smoke, eat processed burgers and drink wiskey everyday. its culturally considered far more of past'esq boomer thing, Even in the more poor rural areas where me and the misses stayed last year for 2 months orso, people where very into growing own food/herbs and what not. Besides a what I would call healthy dose of big government scepticism which is something the USA has always had, there seems to be an influx of big corporate scepticism.

so on the one end of the spectrum the poorer communities find out that growing own stuff actually saves money and is healthier, and the middle upper class and above vide for social status with electric cars and "lactose free avocado shakes" if you will

I remember when "The Wall" was one of his biggest campaign promises, and that Mexico would pay for it. Then he ended up getting the money from US taxpayers instead.
Given the events of 2020, perhaps finishing the wall would have been great. We don't want anti-vaxxers, MLMs, flat earthers, white supremacists, QAnons, and COVID-19 deniers here. They're not the US' best people ;)

And many perfectly normal people are indifferent to him getting COVID. Lots of people don't want to wish him ill, but people aren't wishing him well either.

But it's not like that online in USA, is it? You either want him to die an ironic death, or you want him to beat this in a day and get rid of these &&#%@^*%* liberals...or Mexicans...or whatever.

Truth be told, I've never read an article that assesses his performance as POTUS objectively and without some agenda. And I bet it's the same in your country, for your president, and in mine, for our.

Correct. Honestly, a lot of people dislike the current Mexican president, too.
The closest I've seen to an objective assessment of Trump's performance is in r/changemyview.

Yeah, but that's an independent website. Also, you never learn why a politician did what he did, why did they say what they said etc. Politics and PR are complex things, and it seems you must be a professional in both to really understand how these things work. Everything else is just dumbed down completely to us peasants, where all we can do is react to the superficial information we were given.

Honestly, shows like House of Cards, where you see what it can be like behind the doors, and The Wire, where you can see how systems work, were really eye-opening to me.

Sometimes I feel that real change is damn near impossible, on any level, in politics.

well that would explain the 56% immigration reduction over @ your side of the fence ;)
