I never really liked the original to be honest, but I didn't know about the A&B remix. That one is pretty good, actually.

For me this one was always about the A&B remix (unless we go a bit more recent, then the Will Atkinson remix from 2014 is pretty amazing as well).

A&B Remix is where it's at. Jono and his growl samples were amazing. (and his goddamn sequence that is probably some midi that was also used on Better Off Alone)
Also, this remix is very similar to their remix of Madonna.

Tranquility Base - Razorfish (A&B Progressive Mix) was initially Above & Beyond's first (rejected) remix of Sunset On Ibiza. Alex Gold wanted them to make something closer to the original melody so they did, and then just released Razorfish as their own track.

^ and he's back!
I think the main element missing is a varied bassline. Right now it's okay, but it doesn't vary much. The melody is fine. Never grew fond of this track, unfortunately.

Wasn't this a rework of Tilt - Rendezvous?

Okay, maybe it wasn't intended as a rework, but it surely sounds like Rendezvous. At the same time, it has... nothing in common with Sunset on Ibiza. No wonder it was rejected as a remix.

One of the A&B guys evetually confirmed it after years of secrecy, possibly back on the old Anjuna forum or a Reddit AMA. Same key, same chord progression, they're closer than you think. I played them ontop of each other in Virtual DJ:

Both original and Above and Beyond mixes are great but Above and Beyond is better for me.
