No updates for ages, then two within 24 hours :D

I thought this 3 min+ teaser would give you guys a better insight into Enigmatic though.

From the start it reminds me of Lange's Breakbeat Remix of "Brainchild - Symmetry C" style, I love it! (tbh I can't recall any bad tunes which start from breaks part)

The melody from 1:09 to 1:49 is probably my favourite part so far. This repeating melody with different harmonies kinda reminds me a bit of something between Transa, Signum, The Thrillseekers and, maybe, Re:Locate? (just had 'Distant Heartache" in mind as it also starts from breaks)

The breakdown melody from 1:51 reminds me a bit of Factor B style, especially from 2:38 :)

So in the end for me it sounds like some combination of classic trance from 2001-2005 and with the more modern-sounding breakdown.

Can't wait for the final result - it's probably my most anticipated EP's of this year.

Dudes this second one might be even better than the first 🤑 We are gonna have to support this with REAL MONEY guys when it's released and show the labels of Trance that people still want this kind of music, that it can be successful to bring these sounds again. I am fed up of hearing 'ohhh no one wants to hear classic sounds anymore', they fucking do!!!!!

well one thing i know is that Armin van boring will never support this or tracks like these. But ofc Armin is not the only 'big' person in the trance scene today. Anyway i really hope the classic style like this one kicks off though!

It's a funny old scene isnt.
I generally don't follow much in the way of modern day Trance anymore.

Would just like to express my gratitude for everyone's comments on both the A and B side.
I did do a lot of chopping and changing for the B side because I wanted it to be the right track.
What I've come to realise from the comments on here, on my personal YouTube/Facebook and on the Trance Classics YouTube channel is there is still a desire for this style of Trance, and I believe that this isn't just "old Trance", it's sound is a whole sub genre of Trance now and there's absolutely room in the scene for more of this.
But again, thanks everyone for the comments and hopefully get the details out to you soon 🙏

Yeah to a degree noone tries to make that sound anymore. Look at it as "it's old Trance" but there's no reason why it can't be a current sound.
Jazz and the Blues is old but people still make it, just not this style of Trance.
If you can make it sounds like these tracks then that would be awesome.

This whole e.p. is looking like everything I love about trance as a genre. Would love to snag this on vinyl when the chance arises. Brilliant work Enigma State! The scene needs more of this.

What is this`?

Is this the same Enigma State? This sounds a bit more like modern typical steroid trance to me, apart from some fx and sounds.

Gotta get that gateway song for Armin to play on ASOT so regular listeners can find out about Enigma State
Also, that track feels oddly similar to Transa - Transtar

This track got me thinking about creating a track based on quite a simple riff/hook....but a GOOD infectious hook - that what is the key here. One that you can build throughout the track, even though it is pretty simple in its core form.

Must say my hopes now got a bit lowered. Are we being decieved here? Is it still just steroid trance in a costume? 😛

Hope sincerely im wrong.

It is an old one from Nathan yes, but there's absolutely no need to be worried. He's stepped completely away from this sort of sound/style nowadays and has gone back to producing the old ways.

There'd be no point in this project at all if it just sounded like the steroid stuff.

If I tell you he's recently bought an Atari ST to use with his productions along with the analog equipment it tells you the level of authenticity he's been trying to reach in recapturing that retro sound, and basically everything he's sent me demo wise etc has sounded awesome with a late 90's/early 00's feel :D

I think the previews speak for themselves really but unfortunately we can't share any more with you at the minute. Having both full length tracks sat here I don't think you'll be disappointed if you enjoyed the clips you've heard so far though.
