DJ Sandy vs. Sinesweeper - Shake It (Filterheadz Mix) [2001]
Not sure why this is labeled as "tech house."

Tetraflux - From the Past Into the Present Future [2001]
Techno/tech house? More like "trance to chill out to"

Tetraflux - Forever [2001]
Another "techno/tech-house" track that fits with this thread.

Both Shake It (Filterheadz Mix) and Forever appeared in ASOT 12, so there's some legitimacy about them being trance instead of whatever Discogs says they are. From the Past Into the Present Future is even trancier than those two. From a 2021 perspective, all three of the above are unquestionably trance.

Those tracks 'Forever' and 'From Past to Present Future'....amazing!!!. Great shares man. I honestly don't know enough about Tech Trance to know if these tracks fall under that category from that time period. I think I would have just labelled them old Progressive House if I took a guess.

Dude, Galaxy - Dream Land is nice track. But 2 these tracks from Morph, Marc is fucking boring. I almost sleep while listening them.

Yeah I definitely know what you're looking for, knew a lot of these types of tracks a couple of years ago, when I was discovering stuff from '03-'06 or so. When I remember them, I'll definitely let you know. Have you tried looking into early ASOT compilations?

Does this work?

Long and Boring. Nothing special.

A slightly different take on "chill trance," but nonetheless important. The closest track on this thread is the Mac Zimms remix of Ares.

Andy Duguid ft. Leah - Wasted [2008]

For those wondering why I made this thread, or why I'm focusing so much on these specific tracks:

This is the kind of music that is fantastic to hear when you're studying, working, or doing something that doesn't require your full attention to the music. As mentioned in the OP, it's nice to have on the background. A lot of these tracks are genuinely really good, and some are even forgotten classics.
I hope that with this thread others can hear a different kind of trance, one that isn't talked too much about but that existed in the past and is still very high quality.

Was checking my old harddrive and found some old chilltrance folders, couple of tracks from there:
Interstate - I Found You (Harry Lemon Mix) 2006

Alex Stealthy - Deploring (2005)

Ozgur Can - Not Even Winds (2004)

Starecase really were the kings of this 'genre':

Starecase - Stuck in the Middle [2002]

Starting at 2:50 and then with the background at 3:34 onwards

All three were really good! My favorite was Deploring, followed by Not Even Winds and I Found You (Harry Lemon mix)

Jaia - Electric Sunrise
Tried to find a HQ version of this, but the only one that exists on Youtube is part of the full album. Good share, by the way.

Out of interest, is this one a good recommendation? Or is it too intense?

Antidote - Sciabada (Remix)
Hmm, I wouldn't say it's too intense. It is definitely more melodic than the other tracks on this thread, though.
The original mix is probably a better fit for this thread:

Both are very good tracks, btw! Whichever you prefer really depends on your mood, haha.

Ah yes, now that I've heard the original, it does sound like a better fit. The Remix was more energetic, peak-time.

Check this out as well, it's a little less intense. Would recommend to go through Antidote's (Airwave ft. one of Bonzai Prog's owners Marnix B) discography, they have a lot of tracks in the similar style. Some might be more melodic, some less, some more energetic, some less, but the general feel of them is very similar.

Above & Beyond pres. Tranquility Base - Surrender (Filterheadz remix) [2004]

Both the original and the Filterheadz remix are nice, chilled kind of trance. I actually prefer the original mix, as it's faster-paced and more melodic.

Although the original has the repeating melodic background, I think it still fits with the overall concept of "chill trance."
