What an incredible mix. You don’t know how much I enjoyed listening to this, and the quality of the mixing. You brought together the best of the scene and it just works. I even liked the psy fast ones at the end, and usually I would pass on that.

Activas mix last year was also so good, but I think this one beats it by far. Will be listening to this many times more.

Very kind thank you. Mixed live on my old skool CDJ-800 MK2's. Actually burned all the tunes as MP3's to two CD-RW's to mix it (no USB input on 800 MK2's). You may now commence laughing.....

I’ll commence applauding instead (the admiring kind, not the sarcastic slow one)

That's this evenings listening material arranged then. Tracklist looks interesting, most I do not know, and to best honest I haven't had time to go through the top 100 for new music so this will do instead.

Gave this one a proper rinse on a road trip up to the mountains today, along with my mix back to back. Really nice job @Narel, really captured the sounds of modern trance that I've been a fan of for a while. Also reminded me that I really skimped on digging the labels I usually follow this year, in my pursuit of getting more into the revival scene.... I especially loved the segment of tunes 7-18, the highlight of the mix for me, maybe also toss the psy ending in there too.

It's amazing how both our EOY mixes have so many different sounds in total, even though it seems like there's still very little overlap between the scenes. It leaves me feeling pretty positive about where the scene is now, a lot of diversity, and different approaches people are taking to the music. I'm on a mission though to find stuff that bridges the gap quite well - I'm sure there's got to be some! Especially the Super Frog, Coredata, etc. stuff (and your tune in here too!)

I'm pretty curious how the more underground folks on the form (you, @Enlusion, @Horizons Landscapes Music , etc.) feel about that "other" collection of scenes out there (or about that other EOY mix) - I haven't seen much discussion on that from the big boys of the underground trance world, and that kind of surprises me. Maybe it's because the influences are a bit separate, or just that it's different collections of producers and people, but I think there's a lot of synergy possible there....

I'll surely take a full listen to it soon, absolutely.
That mix goes much closer to my current tastes, overall. Personally speaking, I tend to dedicate a specific time of the month for dj mixes listening and avoid doing that while I'm working/focused on new tracks, hence not having left any proper comment in there yet.

Hey you should be able to download from our Soundcloud - https://soundcloud.com/tfrecordings
Hmm, I don't see an option to download.

I know this might be a stretch, but is there CUE sheets or a split track version of this mix? I like to listen these compilations on my long rides to/from work, and it's always nice when a particular song from the mix sounds really good, and I can identify the track by name :)

I think I said on here before, if not, here it is; being given this tracklist forced me to listen to some nu skool trance that I would have ordinary passed on given my general distaste for trance 2.0. And I was pleasantly surprised by the tunes, which I think and hope is a move away from the same sounds, percs, structure and over compression. The borderline stuff is great. There were also some great mid/late 90’s production styles in there too which did so without trying to be nostalgic.
I feel my productions are very mid/late 90’s, but with some modern production shine and a blend of trance, prog and techno. I love the melodies and sounds from then - my fav year being 1997. And that’s kinda what I’m after in the studio. Scene wise I’m fairly hopeful things will go a bit this way. Progressive is beautiful now with loads of melody and atmosphere thrown back in - see sets by Pappa, Warren, Cattaneo, Sasha, Diggers et al of the last few years. If trance incorporates this again - but doesn’t just copy it - I’ll be so happy. Think Northern Exposure 2 and Expeditions.

I had the exact same reaction - a lot of stuff was in the mix that I pretty much ignored this year, and it was a really pleasant surprise, both the tunes themselves and how they came together. I think I was most surprised by the diversity in production differences, it's not all DPTE + a few other packs anymore.

Thank you!

Interestingly, the first one (trancefix-radio-9-tf-best-of-2022-mix-i-progressive-trance-uplifting-psy-narel) downloaded as MP3 whereas the second one (trancefix-radio-10-tf-best-of-2022-mix-ii-underground-deep-trance-nu-trance-redrot) downloaded as WAV.

Any idea why that would happen? Would be cool to get the second one as MP3 as well.
If that's not possible, it's all good. Either way, I'm definitely looking forward to listening to these in my car :)

Oh sorry, I might forgot to export it in MP3! I'm not sure if I can update the "mix" on SoundCloud without fucking up everything.
