Oh boy, I would think religious people would be shocked by alien visitation, and have many inner questions to grapple with. In the US there are many many extreme religious people who believe that man is made in the image of God, that Jesus was the son of God and even that the Eden story is true. They would think aliens as demons. Who knows how these people would respond, it would be smart to try and plan for it.

Just imagine we an actually meet aliens one day and dare to ask them about a creator and they give us an answer completely different answer or reality that we have as humans. A billion people told they’ve been wrong in their belief this whole time. All the rules and sacrifices were meaningless. Jewish people could have enjoyed delicious bacon this whole time. Pandemonium if they confirm that Scientology is actually the correct one. Fuck they might even confirm God, then the billion atheists who rejected him start to panic. No doubt, Theology is at the core of the alien thought experiment.

Systems of belief and stories are a core tenet of the human condition, full stop.

That’s why we have religious institutions

what I find utterly bemusing is that the government/CIA pretends to somehow needing to take 7 years to take an pro-active role in this with 9 head “commission” with theologians, economists and what not.

Which is just ridiculous

mark my words. In 7 years this has either blown over or they’ll “need more time” (and funding)

Funny enough just listened to a presentation from Colonel Karl Nell yesterday, and he also believes there is a religious component to disclosure. He headed the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency (we'll add his name to the conspirators list).

"We want disclosure through a controlled process, we want it in a way that doesn’t cause societal collapse. Like Eric Klyne talked about in 1177 BC, the system collapse of all the ancient societies. This is the order of concern about what may be happening...We have to address the technical, religious aspects of this.”

Hard to say to what degree religion or society would actually be shaken, if at all. Probably would. Either way, the two Senate Majority Leaders who wrote the UAP Disclosure Bill obviously felt that religion potentially might be impacted enough to include what they did. Agree with TS, there is nothing to contest or get caught up on with that particular point.
Religion will bend and twist itself to fit as it always does. There are too many people making too much money from religion to let anything as simple as facts disrupt it.

Fundamentalists will still claim the world is 5 thousand years old contrary to the scientific evidence. So I doubt the existence of extraterrestrials will bother them at all, they'll either bend their existing beliefs around it or come up with something batshit to compensate.

…. And no one or more “theological individual” chosen by the CIA for their “special reveal committee” that they somehow need 7 years to assemble is going to change that state of affairs 🤷‍♂️

European Parliamentary member pitching in on the U.S. investigation with UAP

“for me, and many others, one thing seems rational and obvious. Someone is hiding something. And it’s not those who are seeking answers.”

spoken by Mr Guerreiro, last week in parliament.
