Obsession lived up to the hype I think. Also recently I've enjoyed Hokum, Oddity, Exit 8, Backrooms, Mads, Phoenician Scheme and probably a bunch of others I can't remember right now

Why is that?
The run time is loooooooong. There was a point about halfway through where I was like "yeah nah he's proper fucked now" but then it just carried on. I went into it knowing nothing btw, I haven't played the game or anything but I do enjoy Lovecraft/cosmic horror, didn't know that's what it was. Acting was ok but by the end I was just left with too many questions. Sometimes I like that but other times I just feel like making me go elsewhere for a big lore dump is just a mark of lazy writing

It was confusing indeed. Some great ideas, but the script needed a bit of work there.
Started playing the game, but oh my it's boring.

Who's going to see The Odyssey? @Katadunkass
Whenever a movie has a 99% glowing reviews by the likes of the Guardian, and other “experts” .. but has a 1-10 like to dislike ratio on all of its trailers…

imma skip, and wait for the (actual) audience reviews.

I know, it has mixed reviews on imdb already, but still going to see it in IMAX hopefully. I don't have high hopes for it though. I can't really stand any actor besides Patterson and Theron. The casting is just terrible. Matt Damon is the most mediocre actor on earth.

With a budget of 250 million I'd expect it to be perfect. I doubt even Nolan can do that. And I swear to God, if I'm going to hear Travis Scott rapping in the end credits, I'm going to stab someone.

Will see it tomorrow. Will share a review

I Thank you both for taking what could very well be a highspeed Hollywood trainwreck to the face for me 🙏

That's the chance you take with Nolan movies.
For sure they are going to be big budget and bombastic, but actually good? Flip a coin.

His earlier stuff like Memento and Insomnia are great films, also liked the Dark Knight, Interstellar and Inception (which I know divided opinion)
Dunkirk was massively over-rated for me and Tenet was laughably bad. Like the plot and writing of a straight-to-DVD movie with a $200 million budget.

But I'm a sucker for the Greek Mythology stuff, so reckon I might like this one... (crosses fingers)

Forget the haters on the internet, The Odyssey is a brilliant and fantastic movie. I saw it in IMAX and I think you should watch in on the biggest screen possible.

I know a bit about Greek Mythology, but not everything that was featured I had heard before.

You should go and see this with an open mind and not nitpick on any historical inaccuracies and or slight changes in th story of the original Odyssey.

Acting is topnotch, action scenes are great. Highly recommenden

oh and the role by Travis Scott is really small and there is no rap music

Watched Backrooms the other day - really enjoyed it. Creepy as hell, and mad to boot! Nice to see some horror elements creeping back into the realm of - dare I say it? - originality.

THAT scene in Obsession was superb (won't spoil it, but let's just say I check the room corners at night).

Also thoroughly enjoyed Exit 8. Played the game a lot as a family, and there's something just captivating about it.

:)
