Hereditary. It broke me. Not
that big of a fan of horror movies (used to be when i was young) but had to see it. It is so much different than the rest that is out there. It actually plays with your emotions. Not only is it scary, in a different way , but you get depressed when watching it. There is so much going on that you will experience a bunch of different emotions. Horror, grief, insanity and so on. An i LOVE the sound effects they used, especially when Charlie decapitated the Pigeon. That Slow string sound that slides to another chord with that reversed violin/fiddle sound really set the mood. I'm a sucker for certain sounds that sets the mood so had to mention that. And, .. that scene with the car when Charlie gets sick.. THAT one is so hard to watch! Poor Charlie
The movie is quite unique imo that it is not a typical horror movie with its usual jumpscares and what not, but it features a dysfunctional family with a lot of problems, grief, mental problems, unknowing > the mother especially, the creepy omnious background music/drone, the demon King Paimon which i'd never heard of until this movie which got me interested in the rest of the demons from
The Lesser Key Of Solomon The Lesser Key of Solomon - Wikipedia. I loved that you never actually got to see the demon (King Paimon) but instead we got those blue-white orbs. Something should stay mysterious in my opinion. Well that is my thought on Hereditary. A movie that broke me psychologically and how horror movies should be made. Anyone seen this?
