Got through Gaspar Noé - I remember watching Irreversible some time ago, but had to revisit it; What a hard fucking movie to get through, one of the toughest experiences I've had in recent time. It's not a movie I'm likely to ever watch again, but at the same time it's so incredibly interesting and fascinating to watch unfold. The backward-chronological order of telling the story was great and really brought sometime unique to it.
I also had to see Enter The Void and Love for the first time. Enter the Void is the better of the two, but what a trippy, weird movie where you really have to be in the right mood to get through it. It's again in a non-chronological order from different perspectives, following various characters, which does make it hard to follow at times, but the superb way of filming it, a wonderful score and trippy visuals makes up for it imo. Love is his weakest movie imo, well, next to Lux Æterna. It's not a bad movie and it's really visual with its sexual content, but the characters are all rather unlikeable (by design), but it does make it hard to get through.
My favourite movie of his is still Climax which is an all out, nut-slapping, hardcore experience which will take you on a ride through hell and.... well.... not back.
Next up is Michael Haneke, one of my all time favourite directors, but I still haven't seen a couple of his movies.
