This track used to give me the creeps because of the robotic voice, but now I think it's pretty badass. It truly feels like a clubbing track, which is probably why it appeared in Tiesto's Magik 7.

Today I learned this was the second track on A State of Trance, Episode 000. Wouldn't have imagined Armin played a Lieb track so early on in ASOT.

Dub version is better. Why do you think its weird Armin played this back then? This is how trance sounded, this is what trance djs used to play. It mihht be hard to imagine considering how much of a fucking joke trance has been for the past 14 years

Although I knew Armin played a lot of progressive house/trance early in ASOT, I just didn't think he would play Oliver Lieb, and certainly not as the 2nd track in the set that started everything.
I do know he's a big fan of Netherworld (Oliver Prime remix) though.

I actually like better the original version with the vocal! Imo the robotic voice is just iconic, and it gives the track a "punch" that isn't there in the dub. It's also closer to the original Lost Vagueness song from Utah Saints.

Obviously fed through a vocoder or similar effect. I did wonder if they might have been re-sung rather than sampled. But then, Utah Saints were serial samplers, their big hit "Something Good" famously used a snippet of Kate Bush.

Yes the vocal gives it that punch, well said. And it is kind of iconic as it's so twisted and bent out of shape
