the tracklists look absolute random, from some fresh stuff to some 25yo tunes, I wouldn't want to have those mixed with one another

will skip the comp as I usually do and give some occasional listen to the new PT releases

I think it is nice to see some older tracks mixed with new ones. I always wondered why "old" tracks don't get played more in sets or radioshows. Especially when a lot of new tracks aren't all that great....

I mix new and old all the time. I agree, there's often not that many good new tracks about. Plus there's far too much gold from the 90's and 00's, I often discover more nice old tunes that I haven't heard before in a month than I do memorable fresh releases.

Excellent tracklist

congrats @Super-Frog Saves Tokyo with a (I presume) first vinyl release 👌 & @Bobby Summa on a compilation!

well deserved!
Thank you indeed!

Yeh, first SFST vinyl, but previously I wrote a track on Rich's Rain Stars Eternal (Spectrum) and I've still got the original test press from 2007 (unplayed!!!), and I proudly display my vinyl of Rich's Islands album on which we both made Frontier and Tied.

Exciting stuff - I'm proud of Clarion. Some tracks take years to make, that was a day or so from beginning to end.

It seems this time around, the mixing itself has been given more focus, vs the impact of the individual tracks. Given what the guys have been saying so far, it will be a compilation that will only properly work listened to as a whole.

Looking forward to the journey!

You co-wrote Spectrum? How long have you been working with Rich?

First listen.

Liking Brandt Hoff's, Andrew Shepherd's, and Solarstone's (Zero Hours) new tracks. That Jonas Steur track was also surprising. Compared to his recent releases, I think this was the closest to his classic sounds.

The intro track will be out on 6.26, it seems that the version in the mix is quite complete that I don't need to post a thread for it.

Rich and I have been mates for about 35 years now.

He's a friend foremost. We bonded as the only two synth heads in a scene filled with guitars.

I loaned him my Virus for a tour with Oakenfold in the 2000s, and Spectrum was just a result of me taking a new synth over to his which we played on after a family lunch. Spectrum came out of that.

Much later, in 2020, we finally worked on the Frontier EP together as he had a bit of a deadline and I had plenty of new material, and after that he finally talked me into releasing music :)

And yep - I spent much time in their studio around the time of Spacekittens/Seven Cities and those early Hooj days. Just visiting when I was back in the Midlands.
