This forum isn't your personal echo chamber, it's a public forum where different tastes and opinions are allowed to exist. Just because you don't like something doesn't mean it shouldn't be shared or discussed. If people truly 'don't care,' they wouldn't bother commenting at all. Maybe let others decide for themselves instead of trying to gatekeep the entire scene.

Or better yet, start your own forum where only your approved opinions are allowed. Until then, welcome to the real world, where not everything revolves around your taste.

Tbh I dont have the energy to refute or make a good argument for my original post either as I dont really care THAT much about it all. Im fully aware that no one would care what one user wants to see aswell, and with all the right. Im just guessing that most users here would vote against (if a poll was made)
ViOBVIOUS shit like this and that its not healthy for the scene that it gets promoted or get any publicity. Most people would see a forum where quality dwarves quanity I believe. And cmon im all for a section with music that is diverse.

Also, wouldnt it be great if we had a forum where majority if releases got a healthy amount of comments for the right resasons. Releases like this dont get comments for those reasons, i can promise you that.

Ehhh.....it's basically just the original slowed down. Unnecessary remix but I don't hate it, just meh. Alex M.O.R.P.H.'s remix is my personal favourite.

@Narel find it kind of interesting you say this is over-sidechained - I don't think it's done distastefully here. Would you rather than modern trance producers do more stuff with EQing and level balancing instead?

My issue with this use of sidechaining (if it is, there are a number of ways to reproduce it without using a compressor), is that it is a mixing tool, not a total effect for this ‘pumping’ nonsense. How the lead riff and pads bounce in and out of the dynamic range in this makes me want to throw puppies under buses. The only use of it in this way I like is on bass lines - such as Probspots stuff and a lot of old Coldharbour records. But even then I preferred it when the threshold and ratio were more gentle so it flowed rather than bounced.

Yeah as a producer myself I can understand that it's tempting to duck everything against the kick (and I don't like using compressors for that; there's some other tools I have that give me more control over the envelope). But the only thing I ever consistently duck is the bass against the kick; everything else is to taste.

Well you’re not the one to decide what’s healthy for the scene, lol. This isn’t some secret underground club, tracks get promoted everywhere: YouTube, socials, other forums. Why do you think people come to TranceFix? To discover new releases every day. There are dozens of tracks released daily, but only a few get posted here. If only your idea of ‘quality’ gets posted, when you clearly dislike 99% of what’s shared because you’re stuck in the past, then this forum would be completely dry of new music. People would just go elsewhere to keep up with the scene. And what even is ‘quality’ anyway? Who defines that? Plenty of so-called ‘quality’ tracks barely get any attention or comments , that doesn’t mean people don’t like them.

Meanwhile, in this very thread, upcoming producers are literally learning real techniques like sidechaining from top-level artists.

But sure, let’s worry about what's allowed to be posted lol
