Now I don't remember before having that much songs in a certain small trend came out at once and I consider myself a bit of (idk )a guy who sees trends.

Some time ago I said prog breaks are making a small comeback and I am so happy I was right. On the prog trance dying I am still devided because after I made that observation prog trance returned a bit, but it still feels like it's on machine breathing.

Anyways...

It's started in the last few weeks with Lange and his song Together

Another song around that time that caught my attention was

And than this week I found all this songs for my show and I've got to say the execution is pretty good and we have examples from all substyles:

DNA - Mercurial (Extended Mix) [ Damaged Records ]

Vert

Interesting, what do you think?

Not a big thing .. more or less breaks were always in the genre

I want fully breaky trance tracks, not only in the breakdown

I think his point is that breakbeat breakdowns in trance are becoming an actual trend. Yes, breaks have been added to trance in the past, like Love Theme Dusk (Signalrunners remix), but they've never been a trend.

I don’t know, I think breakbeats have been used in breakdowns very regularly in the genre. I guess it did drop off a bit for some years…

I'm with you on this one. Not sure it has been occurring recently in large enough quantities that would warrant the use of the word "trend". But I do notice it happening a bit more often than in recent years.

I just noticed in my end of this month mix at least around 5 uplifters with breakbeat breakdowns, idk maybe I am going for them since I love breaks.

Before I joined the forum a few years ago I was one of the first people to predict the return of breaks. All my life I've been great at noticing trends and sucked at capitalising it. Oh well...

Definitely it's a new trend this year, compared to the last 5 years when I made a full return to listening trance and started djing.

And it's pushed forward by a lot of the so called heavy hitters.

I noticed it as well!

Anjuna in particular has been pushing quite a lot of "full" breakbeat tracks in the last few years
Yeah I just posted on a youtube video talking about 3 new trends in electronic music (one was the return of breaks) that by signing Trance Wax Anjuna started promoting the style to a much larger audience. I am very surprised they didn't went after Bicep as one of the other heavy hitters in breaks. I recently applied for an internship there, because I am interested in a future A&R position(this is where I see myself in about 10 years from now). At my age I don't think I will ever be able to have a proper music carrier anyways.
