What happened to the Aviciis, Martin Garrixs of the world?

I remember that, in the early-to-mid 2010s, several teenage DJs became world-famous superstars:
  • Avicii
  • Porter Robinson
  • Martin Garrix
  • Alan Walker
Regardless of the quality of their music, they became pretty famous. I was wondering, though: what was next? Did the electronic music scene ever see young electronic music DJs becoming superstars again?
The only one from recent memory is Marshmello, whose big breakthrough happened in 2016 with Alone. Maybe it's my age showing, but after that I don't remember one specific producer becoming world-famous like the above 4 did, or like their predecessors (ex. Deadmau5). Did something change in the electronic music scene? Did the music taste of the general population move on from individual DJs to something else?

If there are no rising young DJ superstars, what is different now vs then? If there are young DJ superstars, who are they, and what do they make/play?

EDIT:
This thread isn't about those 4 DJs specifically. The spirit of this thread is, where is the next Avicii/Martin Garrix/Porter Robinson/Alan Walker?

Avicii died as per the post above

As per the others why do you care, they are rubbish producers anyway? Covid hit that's why you don't hear much from them as well. Plus, they are busy doing their own things.

Guess I should have clarified: the thread isn't about Avicii/Martin Garrix specifically, but more for young DJs that become superstars. I don't know if, after 2016, the electronic music scene has seen new, young DJs that captivated audiences much like those two or the other DJs in the OP.

I think that marketing and a change of strategy in the implementation of the biggest labels are of great importance here. It seems that today it is more profitable to invest in a number of artists than to promote one. This is probably due to the fact that more and more people want to create and the technology is available almost for free. I think the future is painted in even darker colors when it comes to musicians

they used to kill each other for talents. Today it is different because people can sell anything

there is nothing to hide the money label can create new trends and it is happening before our eyes

overall product quality is declining, not only in music. Marketing rules. sad

ah like that.

well afaik the one's you mentioned, perhaps with a few drop outs. are still around and doing well 🤷‍♂️ You have to remember that this lot is also the creme dela creme of Pop Edm. You don't make it to that select club chat that.

however, as for the broader "scene" if you will. I come across loads of new (young) stuff. they just don't make it into the pop charts (yet)

I just looked at the DJ Mag Top 100 to see if there was any new names high up on there.

But.... what the hell is Christina Novellli doing in there on # 91.

Christina Novelli, one of the greatest deejays of our planet 😂 😂 😂

heh, I would dub no 91 as "one of the greatest deejays of our planet"

that being said, one thing that makes her particular/unique is the fact that she's both a capable (live) vocalist as well as a Dj in her own right. There, like say BT, aren't many of those,

I used to look for what is in Garrix's music that attracts so many followers. However, I quickly gave up, not for me
It's a very specific flavor of pop-EDM. Only some age ranges will be drawn to it.
As a producer, you need a special talent to create a track like Forbidden Voices that attracts hundreds of millions of views. Anyone can create a catchy melody, but without the proper layering, arrangement, and production quality you won't get anywhere near his popularity (heck, not even 1%). This is not the same talent that makes for a great trance track by Trancefix standards. They're different skillsets.

I noticed it. the requirements are enormous but I am very happy about it. If only because of the defenders of the genre. It's nice that someone will sometimes say a word of criticism towards someone who tries to sneak into the favors of the public, using their musical knowledge, betraying their faith. I am glad that someone cares about the quality of this gold, it would be a pity if it turned into scrap

so my music is not that yet. and I have this awareness so nothing happens. worse if I think that I am in good shape and the forum rejects me then I will think hard

thanks to this we will come back ;)
