you have, the way I see it, two paths/options.

1: strengthen yourself by voluntary exposure to said hostile environments in a controlled manner, till you can cope or even thrive in it. Think of it as emotional fitness/ power training for your mind. <- this is the method I employ, hence my (concious) disconnect between what I consider to be places of healing, and places of work. Embrace the suck/ see it as a a threadmill.

This is, coincidently, also the method used to help people who suffer from agoraphobia or claustrophobia. you start by 10 seconds in an elevator, then if that works, 20, then a minute, then 10 minutes, then an hour etc.

2: i've said this before: Start your own (one man) business. it is the only alternative option by which you can remotely dictate the work environment/ rules because in any other, you will be offering services to someone who dicates the rules.

in either of the two cases: good luck man 🙏
An update as well - I have contacted a few aged care facilities to see if I can offer services to them. It seems these days people are just saying it's not their problem and just tossing their loved ones into aged care facilities and forgetting about them entirely.

That’s not just a nice business venture.
That’s a noble business venture 🙏

Also, money all they want is money these days. Mind you I feel the same way about child care it's not a healthy way of conditioning children or a healthy way of raising them without the human support from their parents or grandparents.

I would like to eat something tasty but have zero desire to cook. Right now i am all for adding more fish to the menu — it’s full of vital nutrients we all need! Of course, some vitamins and minerals are still tricky to get enough of through food alone. For that reason, I always keep my health in check by ordering supplements through canadian pharmacy partner. A balanced approach between diet and supplementation really works wonders

Hi Progrez, Great to hear of your interest in the piano technician trade, we certainly need more new people coming into the industry in the future. Unfortunately I don't have the workload nor time at the moment to invest into a new employee but I'll be sure to get in touch with you if/when that changes. If you'd like you're welcome to come by the workshop some time to see what we do here, I just ask that you call/sms me before coming to make sure that I'm in the workshop. But yes I'll keep you in mind if a job opportunity arises. Kind regards, Sam Dwyer Owner, Head technician

Some promise

I am curious about a thing. @Narel

There is a Re-Run in your album Losing Adequacy and there is a track called Run. But there is another track Re-Arecibo and seems there is no track called Arecibo. Is there an Arecibo? Why the track is named as this?

By the way, really like the melody of this track, very impressive, but 3 minutes is quite short haha. @Horizons's Remix seems to have complete it.

I want to be in an environment where I can breathe. Where I don’t have to force myself to shrink, to sit in chairs and desks that feel cold and soulless, or play along with systems that never saw me. I don’t want to escape to outer space — I just want to find a space down here on Earth that finally feels like mine.
It genuinely bothers me because I want to be in a place where I define the terms — not where I’m forced to follow rules written by others who never had my experience. I feel like my career has been set up for rejection and failure from the start because I was never given the space to choose for myself.

I want to work in an environment where I can breathe — where I don’t feel like I’m shrinking to fit in. And honestly, if I can’t find that space here, it sometimes feels like people would rather go out into outer space and keep working like this.

What skills or tools actually help with this? Because I find myself needing to take another shower the moment I get home — just to wash off the emotional weight I absorb all day. Whether it’s the stress from the customers I speak to or the cold, lifeless environment around me — even the furniture feels dehumanising. It’s like nothing in that space acknowledges I’m a real person and I am human and I am grounded it's quite sad that most environment are like that.
I’ve also spent time around people who are completely two-faced — high-maintenance, emotionally shallow, and robotic. The kind of people who treat basic human interaction as if it’s beneath them — like empathy is cringeworthy or inconvenient.

You’re expected to play along with this artificial coldness, and the moment you show any vulnerability, sincerity, or realness — you’re looked down on. It’s like they’re trying so hard to appear polished and “professional” that they’ve stripped away every ounce of humanity.

And when you don’t fit into their sterile, performative way of existing, you’re made to feel like you’re the problem. Like being a person with emotions, questions, or even a bit of soul makes you “difficult and it's slowly chips away at my humanity and my self worth and self esteem and confidence too and I personally hate and if I go to a doctor or a psychologist they will feed me drugs which is not the solution I am looking for or they think I am crazy which I am not as well.
You are off course hitting on a very real issue, it would be great for it to change globally (you haven’t mentioned that but off course we would all love that)

I think humanity in general regarding wellbeing has lost its way for years, it’s virtually been this way since records began. Before that we only have legend and story to rely on. Nothing much factual about actual wellbeing of people but I bet it was better thousands of years ago before many modern capitalist philosophy distractions became present. Money isn’t the root of evil, it’s what ‘some’ people do with it and the effects their decisions have on them and others.

Unfortunately humans need to change globally for any significant improvement to be implemented that prioritises wellbeing in all areas of life.

Certain countries i believe implement work areas that might cater for wellbeing, I think Scandinavian ones. I think what you’re saying is a great cause to fight for and make people aware of.

‘Re-Run’ was my remake of ‘Run’. It’s ok, could have been a lot better.
‘Re-Arecibo’ is named that as I imagined if an alien civilisation replied to the Arecibo message with a piece of music. The track is actually titled ‘Re:Arecibo’ like a reply to an email. But because of file naming conventions it is not possible to include the : so it had to be Re-Arecibo. It’s only three minutes as it’s a reprocessed excerpt of a long (and boring except for that bit) track I made in 2004 or around then called ‘Private Trance’. Fun fact, I sampled SFX from Half Life 2 in it, which is included in the part that became ‘Re:Arecibo’

Oh, well, thanks a lot!!.. so much I would change from that remix of mine, tbh, but hey, we all grow slowly track by track and learn from the previous ones while being super mega negative with the new in progress ones lol.... #lifeofaproducer

There have been a few back-and-forth kind of works between me and Narel btw, now that I think, Bonzai first, Forescape later and on my label Landscapes lastly. 🤠🤠

I guess I can now happily sit by the river waiting for the aliens. :alien:

My country (Canada) has comfortably elected the former governor of the Bank of England as our Prime Minister. I don't entirely agree with his policies, but every other issue in this election cycle has been overshadowed by the president of the United States literally threatening to annex our country through economic warfare.

I'm just glad the other guy lost, because he would have been Trump's lackey - and all of Canada knows it.

M8 that’s awful, good luck and hope you’ll be well afterwards 🙏
It's done. Wasn't too painful, but I did have a bit of shoulder pain yesterday. A coworker had to stay with me overnight at my apartment just so he could monitor if anything went wrong with me.

Now I'm on like three different pain medications.

I slept much better last night now that my hiatal hernia (which is what was causing my acid reflux) was repaired.

Ketorolac (non-opioid) and hydrocodone acetaminophen (opioid)

The third med isn't actually a pain killer, but instead anti-nausea/vomiting: ondansetron

Recovery is going well. I'll be able to quit meds tomorrow.

As a fun fact... I've had zero motivation to fap since I started prepping for the surgery. Almost gone 1 week without it already. I just kind of stopped caring for it? Who knows. Can't really feel horny rn

I'm having Nissen surgery in two days. Been dealing with severe acid reflux and difficulties breathing for the past year :/

Try dealing with Sleep Apnea on a daily basis and on top of that acid reflux on a daily basis and daily anxiety attacks when I lie down in bed after long hard day. Then being mocked by an asshole and being incorrectly judged as being "lazy" when I am not lazy at all.

You should see some of the horror stories I have had to listen to on a daily basis. Some people can be quite horrendous if they are desperate.
