Looking forward to see my daughter this week. She is seven years old and a bit sad, because she cant go to school after so long time. So shes a bit isolated, because her mum is a corona denier. That means, no school, as long as there is a mask obligation... Bad situation, but dont know what to do. You cant discuss with a corona denier, they are unconvincable

Are you going to let your daughter get vaccinated?

No vaccine has yet been approved for minors (only Pfizer was approved for 12yo and older).

But overall, I feel with your sentiments @Love Nation . It seems like everybody is a denier of something. Whether it's the coronavirus, or the vaccine, or the government, or whatever... I mean, we have anti-vax songs out now in our country. Saw it playing in a club the other week (when it should've been closed).

And when we consider how parents can ruin their kids, this has to rank up high (without counting the, god forbid, violence or something worse). Not letting a kid go to school because her mom thinks masks are stupid? Wow... Hope your visit cheers her up. That's about as much as you can do unfortunately, apart from legal action.

As to how to convince her... I don't know. You need to pull at her heart strings. Logic won't work, and actively arguing whether or not the coronavirus exists or not is pointless and won't get you anywhere. Try to frame it like your daughter is sad and isolated, will grow up without friends etc, and fuck the mask, even if the virus doesn't exist wearing a mask won't harm her.

The problem is also that i never have any deep conversations with her mum, to avoid any conflicts. And the mask thing is a political thing. The corona deniers say that letting kids wearing masks is an act of violence. She also passes other weird things on my daughter. Someone told me to involve the youth office, but i cant do that

Dont think so. Her mum is also a vaccine denier, like the people that got into several conspiracy theories because of corona
Can relate: my wife is a naturalist and not that keen on vaccinations either. difficult discussions. though we've sort of reached a fair (and ethical) agreement on vaccination in general.

Concerning the covid vaccine specifially I'm on her side though. The vaccines have, in contrast to say: the measles vaccines, been rushed, Protocol have been skipped enmasse, long term side effect test are all but ignored, there's tremendous political and market pressure to "just get it out there" because heaven forbid a competing country might have one sooner.. and there already have been several controvocies and batch drawbacks. (though most of it is small beer)

my parents have, being in the risk factor, recieved vaccinations and are doing well. but, given my health/age/bmi etc. I don't think I will and probably neither will my wife, at least for now.

Yes also i heard that the corona vaccines are vector vaccines that modify the genes or so. It sounds a bit spooky, but nevertheless, i got my first vaccination some weeks ago with biontech. Felt a bit sick for about only ten minutes, then everything was fine, except my arm hurt for one or wo days

I started going back to the gym this week. Have done cardio, legs, and pushing exercises and am feeling super sore right now.
Started to feel a very mild fever, so I'll probably get a COVID test just to make sure it's not, you know... COVID. I would be surprised if it is tbh, I'm like the only person in the gym that uses gloves lol. It's still a good idea to do ~weekly tests though.

Wait, so it's been 3 full weeks after your 2nd Moderna dose? Moderna vaccine is supposed to be 94.1% effective 2 weeks after the 2nd dose at preventing COVID-19, so this is really weird. Could it be a random virus instead?

And do you pay for those tests, and which ones are they?

Most importantly, how do you work out with gloves???

Yep, 3 full weeks. I'm hoping it's just a random virus. Maybe it's just a symptom of muscle ache.
The test is free in the 'States, so I'm just going to walk across, get tested, and then walk back. There's a testing site like 1 block away from the bridge.
That's a good question about the gloves. I think I'm using latex gloves. It hasn't really been an issue yet with the weights and exercises I've been doing, except for decline triceps extension with the curl bar done after bench presses/ohp and incline dumbbell presses. My arms were shaking almost uncontrollably with 20 lbs, but maybe that's because my arms are still too weak for 20 lbs.

Update: negative covid test!
In theory, the virus could still have been incubating, so negative/positive is basically a coin toss. That being said, I have not felt any strong Covid symptoms beyond that mild fever, so I probably don't have covid and really had nothing to worry about.

Got my 2nd Pfizer shot today. The stabbing hurt a little bit more compared to the last time. Been almost 12 hours since, only got muscle pain in the arm where I got stabbed, just like last time.

A little update. Slept 3 times since I got my shot yesterday. Once at night for around 7h, and twice during the day, for 2-3h per nap. Good news is that the muscle pain is starting to wear off, so I'm hoping for a productive training session tomorrow.

The author of my favourite book (Berserk) was announced to have passed away at 54. It's absolutely devastating for me and usually I would not get emotional about someone I never met but I've been reading the manga series since 2002 and the impact its had on me has been huge. It's been going for 32 years and was far from being finished. It's the best story I have ever read, one of the best ever written by mankind, the artistic skill was at masteripiece level...its heartbreaking that he will never get to complete it. Damn this really hits.

Was just thinking what would happen if "we" organised a little demonstration/riot outside the ASOT studio with signs saying like "Stop ruining Trance"
"ASOT = monopoly on the "trance" genre" "You still have us old fans, don't follow the money, end the asot show now" . Im holding a laptop with the infamous 2004 quote "WHY DO ALL TTHESE RADIO STATIONS PLAY ALL THIS CHEESY MUSIC CALLING IT TRANCE?" on a loop.

Massive speakers blasting out the quote from the one and only: "It's. Not. Trance." on repeat.
