I kindly ask you two to not hijack this topic and get another jetflag v dmgtz96 debate topic :)

Any conclusion should be: War fucking sucks. A handful of stupid rich people decide the fate of many, many innocent people. War fucking sucks.

For a long time 2 of my friends and I were planning a trip, just the 3 of us as we never went anywhere as a group before. A nanosecond before I was going to pay the advance fee for a reservation which I already made in my name, the plans were of course altered significantly, and for a 100 different reasons my enthusiasm for the trip has significantly diminished.

Like, why go? It won't be as fun (and this is not me being overdramatic), and I'm already stressed out about it, almost 2 months in advance (this is).

It always sucks when you have major plans like that changed significantly.
In a way, it's good that the changes happened before you paid the advance fee. Do you still have to pay it anyways?

No and it's not even about the money. It's what these changes bring, without going into detail (because if I did, I could write until tomorrow). In fact, the plans would've been more fixed if I had paid.

The saga continues...

The clients ended my contract after 2 months because they seemingly wanted someone with a senior output who would immediately make an impact (which is barely possible for a new guy). And they knew I was a junior developer. Literally feel like I was put in a position where I could not succeed.

I'm not out of a job, thankfully, as I was just outsourced to the clients, and I'll get new ones soon. And I will use this period of less work and stress to do other important things.

Feel bad in a way because I liked the work, and I liked the team. It was challenging and I expected more of myself. But also feel like I've learned a ton and really look forward to moving on.

Contracting is risky - some companies expect you to act more like a consultant, which of course would be impossible fresh out of school.
But it's good experience and a way to get your foot in the door. Hopefully your company sends you to a client that could use the help of a new guy.

Do you mean... like... actual age...

Anyway. I just pressed the "send" button in a job application screen. So yeah... let's see where this goes. The job is pretty much the position that is above my current position. So a logical next step. Let's see if they think I am ready for this. It's in my own team, and
