Thanks for the great words! It's really challenging at times, honestly been thinking about hanging the boots, but seeing people find some meaning in it gives me the energy to continue. @Katadunkass and @Magnevi are also two legends who had a huge hand in reviving the forum and making it what it is today.

It's close! Got the price down by 300 Euros, as I wanted. Will sort out the advance payment tomorrow, and then it's just waiting and sorting stuff out before finally having a first drive. Don't want to say anything else, not to jinx it. :D
Let's just be honest, I fuck around on Discord and upload a video once in a while, lmao

I do like to take the credit for starting the raise fund and kicking it off.

But the actual running of the forum is deffo in the hands of Hensmon mainly. The others contribute too, and I quietly disappeared. I don’t have the time and energy for it.

Alfa is coming tomorrow! What's strange is I don't have that kid-like excitement I normally have about everything. Just a lot of doubt.
that's dope, we're going to glow up the same day!

and yeah, it's a weird feeling. I should be excited but I'm mostly nervous

@Gagi @dmgtz96

Im not a psychologist ( i just think i am 🤔)

Perhaps these cars are the biggest most expensive and exiting things you have bought for a while. All the crazy stuff thats been going on in the world, in particular Covid19. ( but also the usual wars , politics etc ) kind of takes the edge of stuff sometimes. Something so big impacting everyone in the world and we can’t control it. Bound to have a psychological effect. All the recent deaths with icons and artists plays on the mind too.

My advice is just try to be practical. Dont expect a rush of excitement but try to enjoy the cars positives and just relax with it.

Update: my delivery was delayed 🙃 as was a friend's. Must have happened because of the ice storm from the past couple of days
I should still be able to get it before the end of the year, but it does mean that I'll live without a car for two more days, hah. Fortunately the weather is nicer, so I could walk to the store if needed.
I cancelled my Netflix membership and am probably going to crack open the books that I've been neglecting over the past year. I still need to finish reading Maus and How the Garcia Girls Lost Their Accents.

Alfa is here fuckers!!

They say you bought the right car when you have to turn around when you are walking away from it.

Now it's the rego, and sorting the rims and tires, servicing and all the small stuff. Can't wait to drive it!

I say…Make Trance!

If you ain’t done it before theres tons of free software and daws, all of which is good. Cakewalk, studio one prime, ableton lite and many more. All good free daws.( i have the full version of studio one so can help you on that one)
I might even have a daw ive not used that i can send you the license for that accepts 3rd party software. Then theres the fun bit. If your free daw accepts 3rd party vsts n plugins ( some don’t, they come with their built in good sounds) KVR have literally 1000’s of ‘free’ vst’s and plugins on their site for sound design & effects. ( you don’t actually need a keyboard controller. I know lots of people who make electronic music using laptop keys. One geezer releasing his tracks soon. The other chap i know is my 17 yr old genius nephew. He made a well good version of ‘cafe del mar’ by energy 52

Careful though: you might get addicted 👍🫶

Alright boys, rego nearly done (but I can drive it!), so that's that out of the way. Coming up: Tires and service. Hoping to resolve this ASAP honestly.

Here's a quick and dirty pic of the Alfa. It looks so much better in person actually. Need to get it washed as well.

whew, that was one exhausting day
let's just say, the Tesla is awesome. I didn't know it made a sick "engine" noise when you press on the accelerator; it sounds WAY more badass than my previous car. Not only that, but I basically never have to worry about running out of charge or planning trips around charging stations - the car's navigation system automatically sends you to superchargers along the way. Also, one-pedal driving on this is crazy.
(edit: the visualizations of live traffic are neat, though not sure if they're worth a $100/yr subscription lol)
I did take some time to learn how to read the navigation system, but turns out there was a recent update which made nav much simpler and more useful, with larger character sizes and clearer instructions.

I don't think I've ever been as excited to drive. This is the car I should have always been driving.
