I just woke up from a very strange dream.

In my dream, I "heard" one of the best and most emotionally-touching pieces of breaks/trance
I forgot what this track sounds right after waking up.
can relate 😔 You don’t know how many times that happened to me lol.

I can often recall some details though.. rough tempo/bpm. Style, tone etc. Anything that you can still remember?

How do you know that's him?

In other news I am seeing a hypnotherapist to see how if he undo the brainwashing for the trauma and gaslighting I had faced from my previous job.
That’s good, but

“..if HE can undo..”

that’s not how that works m8, only you can undo that, he, at best, can assist you with it.

good luck 🙏

Man, Jesus. That sounds like you had a horrible job. I keep hearing about people being bullied in the workplace.

I had to do some disgusting things with patients in my last healthcare job. And I don’t mean normal personal care, but i never got gaslit or brainwashed. Good luck man.

Hope it goes well man, just give it a go. Hypnotherapy helped me quit smoking. If he is a good therapist, he will provide you with a theraputic space and calm through which to work. Plus if he understands some of what its done to you.

I have been brainwashed in a different setting so can empathise man.

Oh it was the worst department ever. You get treated like crap because they try to put you in situation to make you feel guilty and then they say there are people in domestic violence, child support, aged care, Prison, homeless people just to justify their position within the Department. While the rich and narcissistic people get to enjoy seeing you suffer. You feel out of breath in that department and they deliberately keep you barely alive and just to experience death over and over again. Everyone forcing their own hidden agenda onto you whether it be religion or their core beliefs. They had this thing called "We Care" it's just a scam no one really cares in that Department. There is a high smoking, gambling rate and drinking rate in the Department and the executives take a lot of drugs too.

My psychological needs were repressed and they inject fear and doubt into your head and I saw treat me like a puppet and get me to partner up with people whom I had very little interest. There was a lot of trauma bonding and love bombing too and they use empathy and different kinds of love styles as weapon to get you to let your guard down. If you are perceived as boring based on someone's else opinion, then you get targeted and they force you to change and you can feel your personality change.

This does not sound normal. What job was it and in what country?

How many of your tracks were inspired by dreams, if any? Like how the melody for Seven Cities came to Solarstone in a dream.
Don’t have the exact number but quite a lot. Paracosm is 30% inspired by it aswell as a lot of my ambient works.

I have this book by my bedside. A nightery as opposed to a dairy, in where I write down or sketch any dream(scape) I still remember after waking. It’s a neat source for inspiration.

I have an entire production folder titled “dream recorded”. With dates and page numbers as titles

I have certainly had dreams where i heard magnificent electronic music. In the 90s I probably tried to put it in a track but can’t have been that memorable piece ( probably didn’t replsy it well) as I don’t specifically remember. There are probably quite a few artists eho do that at least once. I believe one of aphex twins likely truths is that he hears songs in his dreams and replicates many. Cant believe its how he wrotes most like he’s said but its Aphex Twin. Be interesting to know if Jon Hopkins has song dreams. His sound is almost as original as Aphex Twins was in the 90’s. These days thats quite a feat.

Actually I remember a scary ish trance song dream i had around 1996/7 but i wasn’t sure if i was fully asleep. ( i used to have extreme sleep paralysis and other related bad experiences ) i just remember seeing and hearing this track like a dark ish weird gloomy laser light tunnel kinda coming at me. Bit scary but not totally. Weirdly when i hear the classic trance track, theme from orange ( which i really didn’t like when i first heard it. Couldn’t see what the fuss was about. That tune in my sleep experience sounded a bit like that. Kinda. But more intense. I had heard theme from orange a few years earlier as future music magazine rated it best trance track in histon around 1995. Definitely didn’t agree.
Now a days i get it and think it has a certain beauty to it.
I do wander if i have ever translated that weird sleep experience i had into a track i may have recently made ( or started lol)

Interesting Armin started a new radioshow called "Dance Department" - Looks like he is finally distancing himself from trance music.
