Lol it's a story that's been trending on reddit for the past couple of days. It's just bizarre that only one media source reported on it (Buzzfeed), and everyone else was hush hush or pushing articles like "The Allure of the British Bad Boy."
I don't care for her music or much of what she does, but this whole situation shows that she's not as feminist as her fans think.

That's disingenuous. You can call out someone for spreading misinformation without being a misogynist

Yeah it's a cool story
So buzzfeed was the only “media” source reporting on this? well that should certainly tell you something about the quality of the piece heh. 😅

and you didn’t just “call out” alleged misinformation dude.. You laughed/ memed at a woman clearly suffering in the hospital after diligently getting her COVID shot. That, especially under your and buzzfeed's feminist definition is clear misogyny/ edge lordiness

which, just to be clear, afaic your perfectly free to do..it’s just a bit rich that you then post that post hoc ^^ 😄 Like.. it certainly somewhat nullifies any future moral complaint on the matter

Honestly if you want my blunt take on this: i think this is just Taylor swift’s standard imago getting free publicity 🤷‍♂️

She (Taylor Swift) does just seem to sing about difficult experiences with past boyfriends. Sometimes i think she chooses men she knows it won’t last that long with just to inspire her for her next album.
Swift by name, swift by nature. Surprised she had a recent 7 yr one tho, but the rest were ‘swiftly’ finished

Well, whatever works I guess 😆😆

(actually if it wasn’t for obvious put on emotion construted in her songs, I would quite like them, Its good ‘pop’ music.
You know, that ‘un’ thought provoking accompaniment to your day. ( judging by the last 20 years of music in the charts - accept Sam Fender, ‘All the dead boys’ is a brilliant track). Him and Amy Winehouse, can’t think of much else thats great right now.

It actually tells you a lot more about the state of mainstream media than Buzzfeed itself. I'm sure you're familiar with not trusting mainstream media.
Buzzfeed's claims about Matt are things you can just look up, and they didn't appear out of nowhere by surprise. For example, in 2016 he said that dating Taylor Swift would be emasculating: The 1975's Matt Healy: 'Dating Taylor Swift would have been emasculating for me'
and you didn’t just “call out” alleged misinformation dude.. You laughed/ memed at a woman clearly suffering in the hospital after diligently getting her COVID shot. That, especially under your and buzzfeed's feminist definition is clear misogyny/ edge lordiness
That's now how misogyny works. That woman was spreading misinformation. Misogyny would be more like if I had called her out on her bullshit *because she's a woman* and then suddenly changed my mind because I later watched a video of a guy doing the exact same thing. So trusting the guy but not trusting the woman.
Or, if I had said anything about her specifically due to her being a woman instead of an antivaxxer/misinformation spreader.

It is free publicity, but it is bad publicity. A lot of her fans praised her for being a feminist #girlboss, but it turns out that she actually isn't.

Edit: if I were a person of color Taylor Swift fan, I'd be very disappointed and probably would stop being a fan

both can be( and are) true at the same time m8, buzzfeed is an extreme left ideologist rag, which brings us too..

except that definitely is how misogyny works (or trans/homophobia/ racism) under the intersectional feminist doctrine that you and buzzfeed operate under. I’m where any dismissal of In this case a woman’s lived experience is defacto mysogenist.

you’re not going to weezel yourself out of this one by all of a sudden adhering to the classical definition m8 😅

Or have you changed your mind in the mean time and are now part of the more reasonable Hoff summers camp ?

probably, 🤷‍♂️. Honestly It’s a pattern I find somewhat perversely amusing standing from the sideline of the whole intersection fem/ woke ideology and its inconsistent erratic nature.

sooner or later you either:

commit a “sin” and the mob turns on you,

and/or the moral landscape shifts and you find yourself somewhere lower on the oppression ladder.

But enough about “muh wrong boyfriend no100” Taylor swift and/or discussions on woke/feminism (which are probably endless) @dmgtz96

I haven’t checked this thread in a while and I’m curious how your trip went

I'd like to say that it went fine, but along the way the car started behaving weird which is why I got an alignment and balance after I got to my destination. There's still something weird with my car where it doesn't feel planted on the road, so I've set up an appointment at Nashville for my trip back to VA.

Apart from that...

Stopping to charge is actually very nice. Charging stops aren't long, maybe like 15 mins or so, then drive for an hour and a half. It's a nice little break instead of driving for 2-2.5 hours straight (though I've done that as well, which feels much more tiring). During my first day, near Chattanooga, TN the car estimated that it would take me an hour to travel 15 miles and get to the city. I thought that didn't make any sense, then it turned out that there was a big traffic jam due to an accident. It looked pretty nasty. Fortunately stop and go traffic is the best use of an electric vehicle's single-pedal driving, and I didn't fear running out or battery because idling with AC uses up maybe like 1% battery per hour.
In Knoxville, navigation routed me *through* the city to avoid the traffic jams in the city's highways. Ended up going through a random tunnel that only has space for one lane. In one of those TN cities I briefly missed my entrance to the highway, so I went through a back road and passed next to a pretty futuristic pick up truck (I think it was a Toyota?)

Another memorable part of the trip was the Lousiana bridge between Lafayette and Baton Rouge. I thought it felt endless. Looked it up when I got home, and turns out it's 18 miles long and the 3rd longest bridge in the US. It's the Atchafalaya Basin Bridge.

Got lost finding the supercharger in Lake Charles, Louisiana, and navigation briefly took my car "off-road." I probably should have done a u-turn and returned the way I came - it was very eerie driving with almost no traction control or regen braking, so I had to slam the brakes a couple of times.

My third day was not too memorable. There's just not much going on from East TX to deep south TX. There was one spot where my headlights activated, and I saw a deer on the side of the highway. Passed a bunch of work vehicles going into local ranches.

On my way back, my first day will be all in TX, which I think will be very boring. I'll pass through San antonio and Austin and circle around Dallas, then spend that night in Texarkana. Then the next day I'll head up to Nashville and spend two nights there. The morning after my first night I'll drop off my car at the Tesla service center in Nashville. Hopefully it gets fixed by the end of the (business) days. Then I'll attend a concert for a Korean pop group that night, and head back to VA the next morning. This is all assuming I don't run into issues or flat tires or anything :p

That bridge sounded interesting so I googled Atchafalaya basin bridge and found this really interesting video. An old original information video about its making. ‘Swamp Expressway’ Has some classic Boards of Canada style voice overs and background music.
Also found some beautiful pictures (click if its not in hi res etc) plus a modern information video (didn’t paste this but easily found). Apparently the journey is cut from over 4 hours to about half an hour. Never seen a bridge like it. Interestingly i did go on a train on the Øresund Bridge over the water between Denmark and Sweden the week after it opened. Fascinating.

heres the original old video with nice BOC style voice over clips

The crazy thing is, even though this was a 3-day long trip, I only covered a small part of the US. A true coast to coast road trip from, let's say, San Francisco to Boston would take 6-7 days.
I would like to do that like 15 years from now, but with a much better EV that charges even faster... like a model S plaid

i used to listen to whole trance albums. ( Never tend to these days. ).Between 2004 and 2014 ish ( 10 years ish )Most days Id lie on my bed and play album after album of mostly compilations. Often they just didn’t feel trancey in the melody . ( i was mentally ill at the time and couldn’t work much so dreamed of writing music again (but didn’t as i was so scared) finally plucked up the courage in 2020, years later.

Something about the trance on this album was always interesting and unusual. The first 5 tracks especially. Lets see if Mr Summa can listen and learn something about structure. Then when im next at my parents il copy the cd on to a computer , we-transfer it to myself so i can put the wav on my daw and study it. If im gonna copy structure, it might as-well be to awesome inspiring tracks first, whenever they were made.
Or would their amazingness be a distraction and suddenly the juices flow.. 🤷‍♂️. Trial and error me thinks. Or better still. Add it on to a track ive already made and totally re structure it according to the highs and lows, the builds the flows and the fills and the percusion. Time it and bpm it precisely.

Im not bad at melody , pad, atmosphere and sound design. But using only half the ingredients in a cake is not a tasty cake. No butter but lots of flower make it dry. No flower but lots of butter makes it damn sloppy. Or something along those lines. You get the gist.

Structure then, is important.

I have made a friend who works in my local small grocery store. He is from Eritrea, Africa. He sings and chants and has toured with his old band. We are to collaborate and songs will be made with his African vocals. I can’t wait to do this! I already started a track with African sounds, Kalimba for the first melody and some African percussion like a cax. I made a hihat type sound from one African sound. Just spent an hour on it for demonstration purposes to my new friend. Has a prog feel at 119 bpm. He says in his country when we finish a track. Thousands will be enthusiastic about it. They love dancing they love rhythm and the fact that for them, this highly electronic element will be a new thing he thinks it will be popular there. ( he loves the music of mine he’s heard) . But no one knows till its done. Hes a very intelligent and cultured guy tho so, could be interesting. Most importantly Itl be FUN!
