So I've been watching this Youtuber for a couple of days now. A college-educated mechanic, with a YouTube channel on the side. The content was about cars, presented in such a way that anyone can understand, but with lots of humour. A very upbeat guy - sort of like the Donut YT channel, just in a more down-to-earth, Serbian tone to it.

And today, just as I was watching one of his videos, news came out he was found dead in his garage. Apparent suicide.

A couple of days ago, he published a video where he talked about a Range Rover, with lots of jokes about owing/lending money and extortion. He also had what looked like a head injury, not completely covered by his hair. Now reading some comments about possible extortion/racketeering.

Honestly don't know what's worse out of the two. Extortion and racketeering, or plain suicide out of depression. In any case, one who was a positive force is now gone. Very, very sad.

It seems like they still dialed back about what they had initially planned. Now if you are traveling, on the road, or have a car where you can watch Netflix, you can still access your account without being connected to your home's wifi.
Still sucks, though. Account sharing was
I don't watch Netflix but it odd.

from $5.7 billion -->Bankruptcy

Just bought a ticket to see Eric Prydz in July. Damn expensive but that's life I guess. The day before there would have been also Charlotte de Witte, but already one day is 80 euros and I won't pay almost double more + hotel for two days.

On the plus side, Orkidea is also playing at the same day with Prydz.

After spending 700 Euros on the car repair (head gasket leak), and ~30 km later, a Check Engine light came up.

Absolutely livid now, how much more do I need to spend in order to drive without worry? I sincerely hope the mechanic didn't turn the clamp tight enough or something like that. Otherwise, if something failed and it needs another repair and another big buck out of my pocket, I don't know what I will do - least of all how I will pay for it.

Honestly I don't even enjoy it anymore, it's just causing me stress and not really making me happy anymore. If I knew I could sell it for the cost + some investment (e.g. new tires), I would do it right away.

Unfortunately no. In Finland. Helsinki to be precise. And to be honest, experiencing electronic music abroad is still in my bucket list.

I'd love to go to some event in London next time I will be there though. During my previous two visits I didn't find anything where I definitely felt like going, but maybe third time lucky.

Mate. The words ‘head gasket’ They’re blasphemy to me . I had a Mini Cooper ( 2002, modern one) A lovely Automatic Peugeot 406 ( most relaxing car I've ever driven) and a Fiat Idea (strange boxy thing that ended up being a really BAD ‘Idea’ 😆 ). End result. Head gasket went on each. So after either fixing them or getting rid My loss was £4000. I had the 3 over a period of 2 years.

This made me swear to buy new cars on low interest finance/4 years. I need a reliable car for community work. Not that interesting but Modern new cars does have its perks tho in technology. I actually have a nice looking ST Line fiesta. ( not the fast one but has the body work of it, i bought it when there was a shortage of a particular engine part in car supplies and was the only affordable Ford. But, i do like it. Everyone (accept my step child) thinks its the most beautiful colour they’ve seen.

After my trip, my car's front bumper and side mirrors had waaaay too many insects/bugs stuck, so today I grabbed two buckets, bug and tar remover, a bunch of bottles of water, and a new microfiber mitt and went to the local touchless car wash. Put 4 coins in to pre-soak and foam the front area, then for the next ~25 minutes scrubbed off the dead bugs and bug guts with the mitt, spraying the bug remover constantly. Then, put 4 more coins in to pre-soak and wash with high pressure water. The front of my car now looks squeaky clean:

All in all, spent $2 (freedom currency) for my troubles.

Also got a new car vacuum that plugs into the 12V cigarette lighter. It's not very powerful, though it is making a huge difference in cleaning up my interior, especially under the floor mats, and the lines of the seats.

It's an expensive lesson when your car doesn't work, or you realize you don't like it. That happened to me with my first car, which worked fine but I did not enjoy driving it.
If you go back in the market, you might want to look into brands known for their reliability, like Honda or Toyota. Heck, since you're young, single, and (presumably) enjoy driving, you might like a Mazda Miata. A lot of them from 2012-2015 go for about $19k USD depending on the trim level and mileage.

Looks great! Thought it was a Focus initially, these Fiestas certainly grew in size.

Aaaaanyways, mechanic called, said it was a software/electronics issue, and all should be well now after he reset the computer, cleared the errors or something like that. Don't think it's impossible or far-fetched, but it does sound slightly dubious.

Edit: It was an oxygen sensor error, probably caused by bad fuel. They removed it and told me to change the fuel station and report back if it shows up again.

Great news that it wasn't a big issue!

Have you looked in to these? Check if your Alpha is on the compatible list if interested in getting one.
