Whoa, we're eerily similar in life experiences and age.
What's the job market like in Serbia for software engineers/developers? In the US if you know React and Angular you can probably get a web development job somewhere.

Haha, don't make me question my sanity, whether I have a split personality or something.

It's been booming, although not sure what's been going on during the pandemic. Haven't heard of anybody who lost a job, but maybe the effects will come later. Yeah, web/front-end development is quite in demand here as well. Nobody is looking for back-end devs anymore, which sucks because I like that more. But anyways, a job is a job, and experience is experience. I don't want to be a developer forever anyways.

We already have above 1500 Covid-19 cases daily. Well done, people!

The whole region is just a Covid-19 hotspot, like a Petri dish. We have close to 600, which is actually the most daily cases we ever had. And that's only reported and tested - and not everyone goes to a doctor.

My friend stood in line for 2 days to be tested. On the first day, he didn't succeed, and on the 2nd he stood for almost 12 hours until he got in.

pfft, Utah in the US nearly had 1500 daily cases last week
Jesus. Are you ok? Stay indoors my friend. In my hometown only one case has been reported since the start of this pandemic. Mind you my home town is tiny, but she is living/working in the second biggest city which has a lot of known cases, so obviously she got infected. Not shure why she came back here though :p

Fortunately I'm not in the US, and I've been taking quarantine pretty seriously! Graduating in 2020 has its one perk I guess, haha.

Taking quarantine pretty seriously in a town where there was only one reported case...can you spread your seed all over my country @Halon? People are wildin' here!

When there were no restrictions, everyone went clubbing. When they restricted work hours until 1 AM, everyone went clubbing until 1 AM. When they limited maximum people inside to 30 (or less, depending on the surface area), everyone still went clubbing and the clubs were still packed. No control from the authorities whatsoever. When they said that the clubs and cafes will now close at 9 PM, everyone went clubbing from 5 to 9. Just insane!

Now, we're so close to lockdown again. Broke all of our previous records, plus the trust in the authorities is really, really weak, and getting worse. The economic crisis hasn't even hit yet thankfully, but when it does I don't think it's gonna go down well.

Just wondering where I'll spend this NYE. There's no clubbing or anything similar, house parties are kinda off (in case the neighbours call the police), so I'm kinda thinking my friends and I should rent a house/cabin somewhere in nature (or close to it). Looked at some online, it's not always cheap but we'll definitely manage. Hope we can agree quick on everything, or else someone might reserve them. Because of the measures, there shouldn't be a lot of us as well, so limiting it to a couple of people won't be easy.

I spent the previous NYE at home. Didn't feel like it would be any special, since I tried lots of different combos in the years prior, and all the available options at the time weren't promising. So I made myself some burgers, watched a movie and had a couple of beers. It was nice, but if I can avoid that this year it will be great.

Writing my statement of research for PhD applications, which is basically a blurb of my academic experiences and why my research/profile is a good fit for their programs. There's one program that starts this spring, but I'm not sure if I will have to relocate to Illinois. The professors are recruiting for computational students, so in theory I could just chill at home.
I wouldn't mind staying home for longer until Fall 2021, but I've been wanting a change of environment after suddenly returning this past March.

Moving to Illinois from Mexico is quite a change of scenery (and temperature). A year to waste is a year too much, IMO. I say go while you can - or at least try. You'll realize why once you get in my years...

Just cleaning out my laptop a bit. Deleting all the unnecessary files and apps, and reorganizing my downloads.

But there's still so much to do. Lots of unnecessary plugins and samples, lots of music I haven't even listened to in more than 5 years...

The music projects themselves are the hardest. There's hundreds of them, and since I used a ton of different plugins and samples, I don't even know which one can even be opened now, let alone usable. And like 98% of them are pure trash that should just be deleted. But it takes a lot of work for those 2% that are worth saving for me to be able to start from scratch, which is what I want.

Clean up your PC regularly, boys... Don't be like Gagi.
