Reading through this thread and the word that strikes me is laziness from producers - especially in the last 5 years or so. I'll give some example below of old tracks which incorporated chants, and even some famous poetry. No one really experiments anymore. Thats not to say that all ethnic chants etc would sound good in Trance, but at least experiment! I think the instant gratification social media tiktok/reels/shorts generation has a lot to do with it.
Personally, I don't think it's laziness. I think some producers are depressed or burnt out as well. I wouldn't mind seeing this kind of trance once again. Compared to the steroids and electro/house slow and terrible vocal stuff churned out by the asot gang. This track from 2008 is much better melodic and memorable as well.

a nice little out of the box tune with some unconventional sounds but also pretty cool technically. well it takes some independent artistic vision and skills to go that route, obviously nowadays scene full of templates and presets does not enforce that, so it's not exactly fair to blame the modern producers as they just do what they see leads the others to success and appreciation, it's not like Armin or Markus or any other big DJ are looking for the fresh / different stuff, they say bring it on the rehash of the current chart toppers, even in a more underground side like JOOF, they're repeating themselves and call it a style, so you have to repeat the others to get there

I also miss this sound in trance music, now rarely do such tracks. I never get tired of such a sound, I have already collected more than 100 hours of such music and I still enjoy listening to it

It’s ironic that even most of the ideas in this thread regarding the causes of a lack of ideas in trance are at least 10 years old. I think it’s time to shoot the lame horse and end it’s and it’s owner’s, here I am referring to the poor listener of trance music, misery.

Let’s move on.
