Why do you like trance?

Somehow after searching about the personalities that like jazz music, I ended up thinking about the personalities that enjoy trance. Found an article on edm.com that talked about a 2003 study where:
individuals who enjoyed ‘energetic and rhythmic’ tunes such as electronic music, were found to be more extroverted and have a higher self-esteem. EDM fans also viewed themselves as more physically attractive (heeeeyy!) than fans of any other genre

I also found a Quora question where the OP wonders why he/she enjoys trance so much even though they don't like night clubs, aren't very sociable, and don't use drugs. That is more relatable to me than the people from the study, haha.

Anyhow, why do you enjoy trance? What do you like about it? Are you more like the people from the study - extroverted, with high self-esteem -, more like the Quora OP, or somewhere in-between?

Somewhere in between. I switched from house to trance because I wanted something deeper, something more meaningful, something with emotion. Or maybe I just liked it, I don't know. I started looking for those things in music increasingly, but maybe that's because I've been into music ever since I started school and wanted more. But really, that happens with anything I'm interested in - I try to find out a lot about it and explore it until it bores me. So far, music has been the most stable thing, and hasn't really bored me, just because it's so broad and there are a lot of genres and ways of exploring it (such as production).

And while I definitely am introverted, I don't think I'm introverted a lot. I like a good party, and I like spending time with people, getting to know them, talking, although I'm not a super-outgoing guy and usually prefer a 1-on-1 conversations. But I also like some alone time after long periods of increased socialization, but when I get some I get bored - but a couple of days of hanging out with people constantly can sometimes make me nervous. :D

The type of dreamy sounds, athmospheres & melodes associated with the genre aswell as the pulsating rhythm and continuity of the mixes make me close my eyes drift off into a multiverse of paracosms & fantasy.

though its not the only genre that does this for me. Classical, Ambient, liquid d&b/breakbeat and certain progrock genres do the same.
