cool track @william byrne Have pre-ordered my copy. The rhythms and the atmosphere are superb and you've got skills.

Solastone said it reminded him of Gatecrasher, what are your influences and inspirations musically?

Cheers thank you. Early ferry corsten and PVD etc. I grew up with it in 2002 when I was a teenager. Also love paul kalkbrenner

Let me just reiterate my words - it builds up to nothing. The break is wonderful and the track has so much potential, has lots of Andy Moor/Lolo vibes, but the climax leaves a lot to be desired. I really don't get that trend (and it certainly is that). It's definitely not easy to make a great breakdown - creatively, it's probably hardest of all - but with that said, if that's already great (and it is here), how much harder can it be to combine it all to a melodic climax?

Apart from that, the little transition/immediate build-up to the "climax" is just not well done - even with the rolling snares, it feels like the beat starts too suddenly, there's a sudden shift in energy and the entire transition doesn't feel very natural or well-flowing.

I honestly think this could have been made into a TOTY contender with a couple of simple edits, as well as with an additional melody.

That said, if this is your first released trance track, I can't wait to listen to your second (and third, and so on)! I can hear your talent in the breakdown. I hope the feedback doesn't discourage you, and do keep in mind that (some of) us here don't really mind how much clean or well-mastered a track sounds, we appreciate musical content most of all, and how a track makes us feel.

In the end, thank you for joining our community, we hope you enjoy your stay and find some value in our feedback.

One thing is for certain: The break is lovely and soaring. Gagi summed it up well apart from that.

can i hear some of your music so?
Critics don't need to make movies to assess whether a movie is good. In general, this is a pretty weak defense.

My assessment:

The first 3:48 minutes were fine. I don't mind the kick as much as Daysleeper does - it reminds me of John Askew's earlier work, like Blackout and Mood Swing. With a bit more ambiance I'd have put it on trance to chill out to.
The two-step melody at 4:02 and dark-ish bassline underneath are good. It's similar to what Subtara did for Terminal Destruction in 2012, and it still fits with the theme of the track.
The 4:51 melody though. I'm lost, what type of track is this supposed to be? I had the impression that this would be a chill kind of track, but now it's something else, like a festival production. The retro synth also feels a bit off compared to the rest of the track, which feels modern and technological, but I'll give it a pass.
5:49. There's something abrupt about the climax that just feels off, like an editing error in a movie. I thought the track was going to explode into a storming festival track with a lot of layers and an intense melody. What we get feels underwhelming compared to the breakdown. Sure, it's consistent with the beginning, but that's now how the track progressed, and that's not what someone who has been paying attention throughout would expect.

I think you have the raw material to be a good trance producer. You just need to be more consistent about the feelings you want to evoke. Your track went from chill to festival to chill again, which feels off. You might also want to play with other kick samples that fit the style you're aiming for. If you're trying to make a chill track, maybe don't use a John Askew type of kick.

I look forward to hearing more productions from you.

Second/Final part of the track was a huge let down, track was perfect until that point, could have been TOTY indeed, but is a good track overall that could have been a lot better.

Yeah, after quite a few listens I also agree that the climax (5:49) is underwhelming. Everything else is top notch, I also like the melody at 4:51.
Great track nonetheless!
