Yeah fair enough. Got good foundations and some nice sounds used, but maybe not enough musical direction. Personally think few of these would be solid set filler stuff.

But don't you find this to be true for 80% of the underground stuff at the moment? I listened to underground submissions in the votes this year, including yours, and the majority I also find really boring. You obviously felt different. Seems like objectively the music in general may not be massively strong scene wide, and its basically our own subjective takes that turn tracks like the ones I shared from meh to good.

These aren't trance tracks is the thing (or at least trying to be). They're tracks that are probably built for breaky, electro sets or tech housey-er (not the generic Toolroom type, the actual good stuff that still barely exists) to fill the space with something a bit different.

I find listening to DJ sets by the producers gives me a decent idea of how they envision the context of what they produce, and yeah I'd say he's a bit more on the tech house and techno side:

Yeah seems like it. The Pianissimo one is pretty Trancey tho! I actually discovered this guy from your mix, this track is so good

I don’t think these are too bad. The house ones are definitely filler material but they have a good groove. Pianissimo has nice ideas but doesn’t develop as it should.
