Any Pearl Jam fans? There's a few I could select for 'most meaningful'. Indifference comes to mind, but it's not really rock at all. Oceans is another. The whole Ten album is very meaningful to me, its an incredible debut album. This one below is one I will never stop playing.

Good memories of seeing them live a few times. I travelled a bit around north America in my 20s and this band, along with Soundgarden became the go to with the group I was travelling with.

Pearl Jam is a great band. Their best album (Ten) is definitely their best, followed by their 2nd album (Yield). I love their old 90's style of rock on their first couple albums. I miss that sound.

From the album Ten

I really want to use this thread to celebrate the lesser known and well... not exactly obscure, but more interesting rock tracks imo. Sure, many people know about AC/DC, Linkin Park and whatever, but what about some of those rock bands which completely fell under the mainstream radar (perhaps by choice)? I'm not saying I'm an expert in rock music, but I definitely do know about a couple of bands which the huge majority of people in Denmark at least doesn't know about (I know, I can almost lick my own asshole being this pretentious)

So, this time I want to focus on this fantastic, French album called Amesoeurs. Before talking about this album, I have to talk about one of my favourite bands from the last 10 years or so, Alcest. The frontman and lead singer Neige actually started in a different band back in 2008-2009, which was Amesoeurs. It was a side project of his with Audrey Sylvain, Fursy Teyssier and Winterhalter. If you know anything about Alcest it's pretty easy to tell Neige was a part of Amesoeurs as well and they only actually released this self-titled album back in '09 before parting ways.
So, what genre is this album? Well, Amesoeurs is the perfect example of what happens when you mix shoegaze and metal. A lovely youtube-comment on their track Heurt puts it like this: "black post-who-gives-a-fuck-its-awesome-gaze". What I really like about this album is how they manage to mix this angry metal with atmospheric melodies and even though some of the tracks are pretty hardcore there's no better way of saying this; This album will absolutely put some hair on your nutsack.

Here I want to give three examples of what this album has to offer;

ah the peppers.

We've finally found our PLUR subject

Road Trip is just wonderful and beautiful. Another one of my all time greats, absolutely. What else would be up there for you by the Chilis? Best album for you?

I know its an obvious one, but Under The Bridge is my all time greatest track, and actually I think its one of the best songs written on earth, an accolade I think can only be achieved when songs delivers not just on emotional substance, deep meaning and originality in music writing but also has the exact right level of relatability, memorability and accessibility to give it impact across 10's of millions of people, in both underground and mainstream. Its one of those unifying tracks. Juxtaposing the message and emotion of loss, loneliness in the track alongside kind of charming/upbeat/euphoric musical elements allows for that mass impact I think, it can be felt in many ways.

well it took a while but finally :D

the whole Californication album is an absolute gem and one I still have aphysically have a copy of.
100% agree on Under the bridge, me and my (former) band actually have a cover of this with some change in the lyrics relating more to our immidiate surroundings, (under the bridge downtown becomes down at the nothern shore for example) And its a track I frequently sing to my son to lulliby him to sleep.

Give it away is another personal favorite of mine purely because of the energy.

RHCP are a revolutionary force in Rock music. Knowing the history, it is remarkable what they have managed to give the world musically, with 4 different guitarists, John Frusciante on deaths door from addiction, and now returning twice for the upcoming 12th album. The band nearly collapsed multiple times yet it endeared. Bass is my instrument and I regard Flea as the best the world. He has a dedication to music and craft beyond normal levels. Watch interviews with these guys and you can literally feel the passion and love they have for music, it is awe inspiring, they are true musicians who do it purely for the love and nothing else. How else do you remain relevant and quality after 35 years.

This outro guitar solo to finish BSSM can bring me to tears.

I have a really hard time to find my favorite rock song or album, or even band. I'm gonna probably stick to Nirvana - Aneurysm, even thought i haven't listen to them (or Grunge overall) for a long time. It was the first rock band that i fell in love with, and i feel most attached to.

If i have to choose any song from a band/style that i listen to recently, i'm gonna go with Slipknot - Opium Of The People.

Aneurysm is a right track. The live version at reading festival is brilliant.

The Kim Gordon / foo fighters version was quite punk too from the HOF induction. Comical fall by Kim too.

I prefer At The Drive In more. Probably just because I grew up with them

Love this ep. Mix between shoegaze, low-fi. A very catchy summery track.

Everything about this is so incredibly beautiful. A masterpiece of a song from a masterpiece of an album.
I've never tired of this track no matter how many times I've listened to it. The video is cool as well.
