Mike Dierickx has always been one of my favourite and most productive trance music artists ever, along with Ferry Corsten and Airwave.
If you aren't familiar with his discography just check his discogs page and you will understand why he's in my top 3 (actually my number one, as imo he even beats Ferry Corsten)
The main reason is quantity + quality - that's why I'm such a big fan of this guy. I have no idea how did he find time to produce so many gems. Over 85 aliases, can you imagine? Since Vision Act - A New Sign, his first ever release from 1992 till now he keeps spawning these tunes from his head...Maybe he hires a ghost producer? - No idea..

Anyways, I remember someone made a "Your top 5 tracks from Airwave" thread on trancefix and it was pretty interesting, so I decided to make one for M.I.K.E.
As for me, I think choosing only 5 tracks from M.I.K.E is an impossible task, so I've made my top 10 - the more shivers I had from the track, the closer it is to the first place, that's how I usually rate my trance :)

So here are my favourite tracks from his aliases/groups:

Honourable mentions:
20. Plastic Boy - Silver Bath
19. Active Sight - Tears Of Joy
18. Exposure - Magic Impuls
17. Plastic Boy - Live Another Life
16. M.I.K.E. - Voices From The Inside (M.I.K.E.'s Progressiva Mix)
15. Push - Strange World (2000 Remake)
14. Albert Vorne - A Leaden Day (M.I.K.E. Remix)
13. Push vs Globe - Tranceformation
12. Push - Tranzy State Of Mind (Club Mix)
11. The Gift - The 7th Day

And now the top itself:
10. Push - Electric Eclipse
09. Push - Universal Nation (The Real Anthem)
08. Musix - Do Ya See The Light? (Instrumental Edit)
07. Extreme Trax - Final Fantasy
06. Moon Project - Moments Are Forever
05. Push - Journey Of Life (Original Mix)
04. M.I.K.E. - Sunrise At Palamos
03. Active Sight - Out Of Our Lives
02. Ultra Vibe - Choose Freedom
01. Push - Till We Meet Again (Original Mix)

Even top 20 was a hard task to do for me as there are still so many great gems such as "The Search For Freedom" and "The Legacy" (which are definitely in many people's top 3), "Blue Midnight" (amazing atmosphere there), vocal gems "Troy" and "Please Save Me" (I often sing these vocals in the shower), "Workstation (M.I.K.E.'s Energized Mix)" (this track sounds like the adrenalin pumping through your body), "Faith Forever" (amazing dark tune from his The Blackmaster alias), "New Horizon" from The Absolut alias, "Twixt" (and many other Plastic Boy tunes), "Ice Cream" (a huge collab with J00F) and many many more. The fact they didn't get into my top doesn't mean they suck - I just had less emotions from them :p

Now try to think properly and make your own top! I know it's definitely not easy but I hope this thread will be filled with your top 5/10/20 favourites!
Even after many years of listening to his music I still didn't fully study his discography and would love to discover something new from Mike. Especially remixes

Well this is close to impossible. With a top 5 you are going to leave extremely huge classics out of it haha. I mean, here's mine, but now I had to leave out Plastic Boy, Active Sight.... So this is mine:

Push - Strange World (MIKE 2006 Rework)
Push - The Legacy (2001 Remake)
Solar Factor - Urban Shakedown
Push - Universal Nation
The Gift - Love Angel

Ooof... Been a long time since I was into his works and discovered his discography.

Off the top of my head, and in no particular order:

The Gift - Love Angel (M.I.K.E. Mix)
Sinead O'Connor - Troy (The Phoenix from the Flame) (Push Remix)
M.I.K.E. - Voices From The Inside (M.I.K.E.'s Progressiva Mix)
Push - Blue Midnight
Armin van Buuren feat. M.I.K.E. - Intruder

Could be I might've made a different list, say, 4-5 years ago, but I think these few stuck with me.

Damn - this is tough. His dark prog stuff is too good to ignore. Im not posting those already mentioned, so more to explore those that could have made it as i cant pick a top 5. My no 1 will always be strange world 2000 remake.

Solar Factor - No Return /Deep Sonar (i cant pick between these too)
Crashguard - Conclusion
Push - Global Age
Sinead O Connor - Troy (Push remix)
Dolt Dish - This Round Up!
Blackmaster - Faith Forever
Push - Blue Midnight
Galore - The other way around
Intimo - Retention
Push - Live on
Space Brothers - Everywhere i go (Push remix)
Virtua Trance - Sex after Dinner
Return of the Native - Morphosis
Carat Trax - Musix from the Inside

I love how Ultravibe is up there @Uplifted and the Leaden way remix. Do ya see the light breakdown is worthy too ! Journey of Life, is one i cant and have never got on board with.

Yeah I just realized I need to binge his discography, lmao.
Or listen to that one 3hr mix of MIKE tracks.
I had forgotten about Voices from the inside and the Sinead O'Connor remix. I think there's one (somewhat overlooked) track I really liked from him, but I can't remember. I thought it was A Leaden Day, but it turned out it wasn't!

Maor Levi & M.I.K.E. - Couleurs Du Soleil obviously. No need to post anything else here.

No but seriously, I will have to think this for a while. Too many good tracks to just pick a top-5.

Well, i was never a Push fan. I think his trance sound started to be pretty weak after 98. I really like some of his early releases on the Atom label (94-95), also some of his kick-ass techno traxxx on Zombie and USA Records were pretty awesome. Imho he should do more techno, but of course he has more fans in the trance scene. Just listen to his 'Crashguards - Acid Angels' from last year, or to 'Marco Bailey - Scan Fortress' from 1997, the guy knows how things work.

Here is my very spontaneous top 5:

Extreme Trax - Final Fantasy (1998)
Calling The Freak - Suck My Soul (2002)
Freebase - Broken (1998) EDIT: After 20 years i have just now realized that the version i love is the Fire & Ice Remix, uhhhhh
Vision Act - A New Sign (1992)
Marco Bailey - Scan Fortress (1997)

Universal Nation is a peculiar one, its a upgraded version of Return of the natives - Persuasion which was suppose to be on the flip side as a experimental track and the title track was suppose to be Prisma which sounded like his previous hit 'Blackmaster's Time Never Stops'

They have the same kick, but I think that's a stretch to call it the upgraded version of Persuasion. Persuasion has a different vibe and purpose. It's more like filler tech-trance vs. the euphoric anthem that is Universal Nation
