Mogwai remix is...beautiful! Its something with how that main-synth cuts through the other elements. Its not louder but it has a really cool effect on it. You would never hear that today. Maybe @point @Gagi @Voci or @Magdelayna can get into the technical part of the synths/pads/effects used in this. Of the mogwai remix that is.

...ith sloppy, that the clap used in here is just pretty weak if you ask me. Just a matter of taste , I know. Orkidea is a great producer, but his latest productions have not been my cup of tea. I guess point knows exactly what I mean.

I like this. Pretty enjoyable track. Then again, I haven't listened to many Anjuna-style releases so maybe I'm just not that oversaturated with it. @point in some sense, this might still be a blatant copy of a certain style or a group of tracks, but it can still be enjoyable. Tastes differ, and not only individually, but sometimes daily or at least peri...

...aid only less beefy, and I meant the drums only. But it's clean as well without being over the top. i have actually used very modern Sunny Lax/Activa & Thrillseekers drum loops & fx here hehe Aha! point :D Just to note that i only sent this to well known labels - not really any small indie ones, otherwise it wouldve got signed no doubt - but i didnt want it going to any random label...where the trac...

...lks,its out now on Bandcamp! A big thanks to guys like @Marco1979 and anyone else who have also given me a donation when downloading the track - very much appreciated and thankful of the support!! @point - i agree with most of your words,i 'know' why the decent labels wouldnt sign this - it is too long, but ive purposefully 'strung' out all the building/progressive elements of the track,as my main insp...

Probably the best representation of progressive ever. Take note web-prog producers. What is that swelling synth/pad at 8.29 point? https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=524&v=ZAqOvj37K5Q

  • 20:45 PM - Daysleeper mentioned point in post Can "uplifting" trance be reinvented?
Don't worry. I agree. The Ferry Corsten remix of Awakening is a wonderful track, totally underrated. Cool. point what are those synths from 1,23. Im interested in how he got that sound.

... but I'm personally trying to choose tracks with none or very few replies. Doing it right now, on my 4th release.. Would be interesting to see how long it will take for someone like @Daysleeper or @tranceclassics :D

  • 23:00 PM - S3baman quoted point in post Activa - Midnight [Pure Trance]
It sounds like something from 2004-2005 or so. I like the production, but the composition is too simple for my taste. The melody and break have a very Nalin & Kane vibe to it, and they are one of my favori...

  • 16:50 PM - point quoted Daysleeper in post BT - Atari's Lantern [Armind]
You get picky with age. Not much trance satisfies my urge anymore tbh. Yeah it's the genre fatigue. First time it happened to me with trance was 2003. When I first discovered trance or electronic music and sy...

I feel the opposite. I'm actually very over of this melody, but the rest of the track is so good. I think tracks like Godspeed or more subtle melodies like Remember and Mercury and Solace are actually bette...

Tbh I dont think Flaming June is that good-sounding or up-to-date if you listen it with fresh ears these days. Its got one thing thats missing in todays trance, and that is flow and cohesiveness, and yeah memora...

  • 12:43 PM - point quoted Fredjan in post How can trance be improved?
Huh, I was always under the impression that the first Trance producers (think the EyeQ people, Cosmic Baby, etc.) were actual musicians, and that the easier accessibility to DAWs in the 2000s let people witho...
  • 04:09 AM - Fredjan quoted point in post How can trance be improved?
Modern trance compositions are mostly way more complex. If you don't like them, well maybe that's the reason. Back in the day you couldn't really make 100 track compositions and most trance producers didn't...

  • 12:34 PM - point quoted bulletdodger in post How can trance be improved?
And this is what Trance was all about. I still think it's the harderst genre to make in electronic music. Resident Advisor has revisited Xpander after 20 years. The conclusion of the article pretty much nails it ...

  • 00:29 AM - Gagi quoted point in post Trance tracks that deserve a rework
Every track is fair game in my book, as long as it's treated as art. It should give a different perspective to the original or develop the original idea a bit further. Just taking the original melody and sl...

  • 13:33 PM - Magdelayna quoted point in post Thoughts on sampling
I wonder how much of all this is just jealousy, like "all they did was take that part from that song, anyone could have done that, I could have done that, why didn't I do that?". It takes a serious amount...

  • 16:52 PM - Fredjan quoted point in post Top 10 trance tracks of all time - 2019 edition
