This is what I'm asking myself too, seriously...I guess it is for the fame and the money unfortunately. Trance already became mainstream which is not too good....and who knows even commercial one day. If this will ever happen, I would not consider anymore trance music special, filled with emotions or a piece of art.

Ok, thank you very much . Just read that thread where Armin is talking about dubsteps that will be included in future trance songs, what a fail....Too much noise for me to bear.

I've searched over the net where it is possible to hear weekly the radio show ASOT and no results. Do you know where? Hope Tydi will get a good place on both lists! I love his style and music.

  • 22:24 PM - Hensmon quoted JTTrance2011 in post House vs Trance
I think one of the reasons why Trance Music will never be as big as it once was is because people are still stuck in the same old generic epic/anthem formula that made it become successful back in the golden days ...
  • 12:21 PM - JTTrance2011 quoted blonk in post House vs Trance
Yeah, I was being dramatic more than anything, there's plenty of good music, I just find it difficult to hold people as saviours. The ones people identify either tend to be on the real fringe of the genre o...

Walt co-produced almost every track Marcel has his name on, including the more progressive/big room stuff towards the end of his career. i didn't know that, at all.

what kind of progressive trance you mean? as for Simon Patterson, i like his productions but i can't consider them pure prog-psy-trance, Lyctum on the other hand, yes, he can definitely be considered a prog-psy pr...

Walt of Showtek fame did actually make some hard trance (What U Get, Let the music play, Waltmart etc.) towards the end of the last decade. Interestingly, Showtek are listed on discogs as having a hand in t...
  • 12:29 PM - JTTrance2011 quoted Thijs in post Beat Service - Cafe Del Mar [Beat Service Audio]
It's his interpretation, and I love it. The original Café del Mar is from the 90's, and yeah people from the trance scene seem to claim this melody. Though they also forgot about their roots then. I can i...

  • 14:00 PM - blonk quoted JTTrance2011 in post House vs Trance
the thing is that the majority of those names are producers that have been recycling the same boring noiselifting formula since years and they are still being pushed by many fans as saviours of Trance Music, in my...

Yes... Ricardo's remix is great!! Its not an easy accessible minimal remix, but it's great from the minimal point of view! :) that's great to hear, many people slam that remix for being too repetitive and ...

  • 17:42 PM - blonk quoted JTTrance2011 in post House vs Trance
Apart from Lyctum, i don't find any of those names serious trance producers, if you ask me. It's only relatively recently that progressive trance/psy-ish stuff, which I suppose is where Lyctum sits, has even star...
  • 12:20 PM - JTTrance2011 quoted Perpetuous Dreamer in post House vs Trance
There are a lot of young serious trance producers. Bryan Kearney, Jordan Suckley, Photographer, Ucast, Indecent Noise, Lyctum, Standerwick, Reorder, Allen&Envy, Broning to name a few. On the other hand, I don't think ho...

Don't act as if you didn't understand what I tried to say. :D Of course it's not Dusky.. but it's Deep House inspired. It has to be "POPish" after all. But it doesn't matter. It shows how commercial house c...
