...x is...beautiful! Its something with how that main-synth cuts through the other elements. Its not louder but it has a really cool effect on it. You would never hear that today. Maybe @point @Gagi @Voci or @Magdelayna can get into the technical part of the synths/pads/effects used in this. Of the mogwai remix that is.

@Hensmon Glad you enjoyed. Hope it will open some doors for ya. @Katadunkass How's going Kata? Where's your list, mate? I spent 0 seconds on Beatport in 2019. Bandcamp is your BFF. @Daysleeper For the non-electronic music album, i recommend Any Given Day - Overpower. Unfortunately the new Killswitch Engage and Slipknot albums were meh. EDIT: there were several typos in my list cause i'm ki...

...lf changed a bit, it has a calmer part at the beginning (the low Positron-chords before the Positron-melody comes in). Gives it some more atmosphere I think. The bass and beats are new as well. @Daysleeper Curious what you think mate.

...ampling? Its still there, I wish I could be more like my mother. Shes just living her life and enjoying the music she enjoys. Being a music nerd doesnt really simplify anything, hehe. I think it was @tep that has been repeating this phrase a couple of times on this forum and sometimes I do think that its very close to the truth- Just enjoy the music that you enjoy and dont bother with the music that y...

...ly the kind of music one imagines when thinking of dance/club music from this era. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gvsPexjlnPg While searching for this track on Trancefix I ran into this post by @Daysleeper, which I thought was pretty funny: I've never got Marco V's greatness tbh. Godd is a really annoying track to me. That's when you know a song is good. :P Similar songs: VDM - No Hesitation, PvD - C...

  • 23:47 PM - Hensmon mentioned Daysleeper in post Can "uplifting" trance be reinvented?
Lol wtf @Daysleeper, you are getting too hipster about the details. People obviously define uplifting as different things, but for me if its a big melodic, powerful/intense, fast-paced rolling thing its Uplifting Trance....

...y average and predictable. Keep On Holding is actually really nice though! A fun, well produced, well thought-out vocal track, and finally somewhat of an unique (or at least different) bassline (cc: Daysleeper). I kept cautiously listening on, expecting a noisy, sidechain-pad-rich/Anjuna climax to ruin the whole thing but it's perfect! Definitely one of my favourites this year.

  • 09:52 AM - Voci quoted Daysleeper in post What will the future of Uplifting be?
Or just use another kick. Thats a start. Yeah it's weird. I mean, there's nothing wrong with a loud/hard kick. But more a la Mark Norman - Phantom Manor. That's a banging kick! Johan Gielen - Dreamchild als...

  • 22:39 PM - Fredjan quoted Daysleeper in post Underwater/Tidal Wave trance!
Not at all. It doesnt have to have a long breakdown, but it should have a calm-down moment. Do you consider Second Wave and Salida Del Sol relaxing trance? I certainly dont. Its not dj shah,thrillseekers,chicane...

My personal favourite takeoff: This track pass me by tbh. Its good.Might lack a little in energy but I agree with you. Kaste is great. Water Ripples didnt deliver what I expected unfortunaly.

  • 16:22 PM - Daysleeper quoted Katadunkass in post Underwater/Tidal Wave trance!
Is it the same thing with most Smith & Pledger tracks? A bit too fly-away'ish? I think so yes. They dont have as much energy in them.
  • 15:45 PM - point quoted Daysleeper in post BT - Atari's Lantern [Armind]

  • 14:35 PM - Katadunkass quoted Daysleeper in post Underwater/Tidal Wave trance!

  • 23:30 PM - Daysleeper quoted Fredjan in post How can trance be improved?

  • 23:14 PM - Fredjan quoted Daysleeper in post How can trance be improved?

  • 22:45 PM - Daysleeper quoted Fredjan in post How can trance be improved?

  • 23:35 PM - Fredjan quoted Daysleeper in post How can trance be improved?

  • 21:45 PM - Daysleeper quoted Fredjan in post How can trance be improved?
It's good to hear a fast-paced trance production that doesn't use the generic metallic kick or the psytrance kick. Sure is, dont get me wrong I despise the steroid style. What I mean when I wrote copy-paste ...
