So I created this set back in December to showcase the best of Subculture for the year 2025. Think the site was down back then so I'm sharing it now instead. In my opinion Subculture is one of the best trance labels, and John O'Callaghan in particular had a superb year! So this set has so...

I can certainly appreciate this. There is nothing wrong with a quality rework / remix if it enables that tune to be enjoyed by a wider audience and enables modern DJs to give it more exposure. I'm one who would eagerly drop this remix in a set (particularly State of Mind).

Great to have Paul Denton back with a beautiful uplifting piece. Missed that from him. This is quality!

I believe this is another work with Paul Skelton and follows on from 'May The Road Rise' last year. Has that feel to it. Beautiful tune!

Enjoy most if not all his tunes especially over the past few years.

Just heard a guy from Superstrings on ASOT say it reminds them of "Barthezz - On The Move" which was the first thing I thought of when I first heard it months ago.

Why do you think this is JoC? He stays true to his Trance sound. It's Kearney who is moving away.

Huh? Why would he have played Enigma State tracks? Don't get the connection?

Sounds like something I could work with but 4:39 for the extended dub? Should be called "Shorter Dub Mix".

Not for me at all..

I see it's had a name change and been released as "THE WHIP". Is that the contribution Superstrings had? :sneaky:

Whip Em Out on Valentines Day. Seems appropriate..

Ah, interesting. I wonder what it is that Superstrings contribute to these collabs.

You're right. I knew it was an Armin tune (or one he used to play a lot) but couldn't remember which one I was thinking of. Definitely copied elements from Serenity but I still think Sugarphoria is a great tune.

Trance Essentials - 2024 YEAR MIX The very finest tunes in trance! The ultimate compilation.
