    Armin steps over the line

Boo hoo men dressing up feminine. Not like the old times when men were REAL MANLY MEN

RA interview: Tiësto responds to sellout critics and underground purists

I know it might be hard to imagine if you're not that type of person yourself, but... yes, it's entirely possible to care about both the underground and more "commercial" sides of music. It's like you can watch both Tarkovsky and superhero movies. You can play both $5 indie games with pixel...

Producers and labels using gen. AI

This guy had been rather productive even before the AI boom, so I'm guessing he at least knows his way around the production software. But then again, would it matter if he really opted for AI generation in the end?

In Search Of Sunrise - Which one's do you prefer?

I’ve recently re-listened to all the ISOS compilations by Tiësto, and here are some of my thoughts for anyone who cares to read them. ISOS 1-2 are the closest to the Magik series in sound and spirit. No surprise there, they were even released between parts 4-5 and 6-7, respectively. Moreover...

    Kid Vicious - Re-Form / Tiesto - Suburban Train

By the way, Flesh (Tiesto Remix) used a lot of the same elements/samples as Re-Form (Tiesto Remix). There are actually lots of similarities between Tiesto's tracks and (especially) remixes, but some are lesser known than others.

Trance artists and war in Ukraine

Judging by this and some other details you shared, I can probably guess who you are, and while I won't deanon you, what you're describing as just "replying in the same manner" was in fact much worse than anything that was said to you, and some of the beliefs you hold are absolutely abhorrent...

Trance artists and war in Ukraine

Yeah, the thing about VK is that most Russians who vocally oppose Putin don't really use it anymore - especially since the start of the war when new, much stricter censorship laws were passed (with shocking speed, I would add). And it is state controlled, so even private messages can be accessed...

Trend of Comatose Progressive House/Organic House music

Yeah, it's mostly just music to put on as background noise. Kind of like those lo-fi beats. Lots of people listen to it while studying or working, and it helps them focus. Which isn't bad - just don't expect this sort of thing to be as engaging as you're probably used to.

Tiësto - Bring Me To Life [Musical Freedom]

I can get the frustration (even though I genuinely liked Kaleidoscope and didn't really mind Tiesto's transition to other genres), but it's still funny to me that people are getting so pissy about it. The thing is, it's not like getting dumped by a partner. It was a parasocial relationship at...

Tiësto - Bring Me To Life [Musical Freedom]

Dennis's productions weren't even a one third of the set... And even those were mostly edited versions.

Tiësto - Bring Me To Life [Musical Freedom]

A small thing I noticed: he played Rosalía's song in the middle of his Dreamstate set for basically no reason. However, it does bring a bit of that operatic vibe that was a huge part of Tiesto In Concert, especially in tracks like Magikal Circus... Does it have a deeper meaning? Probably not...

    Rank your favourite Gaia tracks!

I could think of a few possible answers, ranging from Rank 1 - Opus 17 (sound-wise) all the way to Bobina - Invisible Touch (Ferry Corsten's Touch) (a similar progression). Not a "rip off" per se, but these are possible sources of inspiration. Then again, Armin has always been ok with lifting...

    Rest in peace, Anderholm/Orbion

Damn... I've interviewed him once (when the war started). RIP The Anderholm stuff is indeed very nice. I especially enjoy "Mope" (which actually means "Sea" because in Ukrainian it's written that way)

Does anyone have an 'obscure' number 1 Trance track of all time?

I love that one too - way more than his Silence remix, actually! I think it perfected the formula. So it's very fitting that it came out on Perfecto 😅
