Im talking about roughly maybe 2009 - 2012 Trance,on small minor label releases......powerful,emotional,epic,great melodies....my favourite type of Trance. You never hear these kind of tracks played by any DJs at any event....what a great shame. I play these kind of tracks a hell of a lot at home - its just 'TRANCE' for me.

Il give you some examples...

Not a big fan of that era, but this one caught my eye back than:

Sequentia made some nice trance.

2006 but falls in the same category I guess:

Quite a few of my favourites are from this style in this era, for example:

and many many more. It's the style that got me into Trance, though I don't listen a lot to it anymore these days. I probably should though, it's ridiculously epic.

This was the Andy Blueman era. Depending on your taste and ears, this style might not have been as interesting as the darker square-synth tech trance that was being created simultaneously

The Andy Blueman orchestral style began slightly before in 2007...i dont exactly mean that style, which branched off on its own - other producers tried to copy it but never really matched Blueman - Nyctalopia was the best track in that style imo.

My point in this thread is that DJs never play these style of tracks in sets...probably because they were on smaller labels at the time...but if they were played nowadays,im sure the crowd would love them.

While at that time there was no such desire to search for new music across small labels as there is now, therefore only this remained in my memory... Although I don't consider that everything is bad with uplift nowadays, it's the most stable branch in trance music in my view

I was already pissed off at it by this point tbh, I should check these out. The other issue I had by that time was the total overload of releases in addition to the and promos I was sent on mailing lists. Not bragging, it was too much I kind of didn't want to start to climb the mountain. It was around here that I had stared just playing what I already had.

on reflection, 09-11 were probably some of the weakest years for trance over all but that was because of the surge of "trouse" at the time. 2012 was an epic year!

Not saying there weren't good releases, there absolutely were but compare those years to any before, they were weaker imo.
