What was the last movie you watched? - Part 3

In this movie you have one actor on screen, in a car, talking on a phone and three stories. And it is, probably, the best movie "this" year (It came out last year, but this year in Denmark). Tom Hardy puts out his best performance yet and is slowly becoming one of the best actors of this generation. This is not just a story about a man in a car, but how his life goes from good to bad to chaos in 82 minutes because of a mistake in the past and his view of life. It is not a movie for everyone and some will probably find it boring and such, but if you can look pass the fact it doesn't have any action scenes or such, Tom Hardy's performance will suck you in and you'll most like enjoy it.

Yeah, thought about watching it some time ago, but eventually I fell for the above and former mentioned animation movies from Japan. Maybe I can find time for it tonight :)

Family Guy: Stewie Griffin's Untold Story

This movie really took me by surprise. The story is fairly simple: A goodbye party is held for a professor who's leaving, but the party becomes a mysterious interrogation as the professor reveals his biggest secret. David Lee Smith, who played the professor, did a fantastic job and was VERY belieavable in the role. The whole movie pretty much takes place in the same location which really helps the story and overall atmosphere. I loved how the story was told and how his secret was unfold and eventually ended up becoming a huge part of the other professors' life. The score was spot on. I'm not sure if the movie have much rewatchability, but I enjoyed it very much.

If you plan on watching it I recommend not reading the IMDB summary of the movie. It's much better getting in to out without knowing to much :)

A beautiful movie in a strange way, very dark and one that keeps you in a state of suspense.

Touching music and a setting to match the mood throughout the movie. In all actuality not much actually happens during the story, just it's more an examination about the bond between a troubled youth and the wandering soul of a vampire.

I guess it's just different and that's why I saw it through.

A story about an abduction of a little girl in one of the rougher neighbourhoods in Boston. Featuring a strong cast, quality composer and all the other key ingredients for a powerful movie.

Just one drawback, make that two actually... First being that I can't help but shake off the feeling that Casey Affleck is miscast. He just doesn't fit into the character he's playing, as if the emotional dilemmas are scripted rather than heartfelt. Of course everything is scripted but a movie with this cast needed consistency in quality of acting. Instead I was left with a sense of disparity between characters. Also at fault is Ed Harris who played a detective in a manner fitting of Pacino at points.

Sadly it was all a bit melodramatic and lost some of the poignancy a more subtle effort would have delivered. Worth a watch but only just from me.

One of the most unique and beautifully written love stories I've seen. It is also one of the most mind-bending movies I've ever seen. The last 15 minutes is one big "mind-blow" with quick frames, a lot of information and some huge twists and turns. The movie is set in three different, parallel times spanding more than a millennium. It would be a shame if I said any more than that as I really think the best experience when wathcing a movie is to know as little as possible.

I've only seen a couple of Darren Aronofsky's movies, but they are both some of the most unique movies I've seen (Requiem for a Dream and The Fountain) - he surely knows how to direct and tell a story based on these two movies! Hugh Jackman and Rachel Weisz are perfect for the roles and I must say, Rachel is so lovable and belieavable at times in this movie.

After watching it your head will hurt a bit and I must say I had to search for some information about the movie and an analysis for it. After doing that and finally understanding it I must say it is one of the best love stories I've seen in many years. Highly recommendable if you like movies where the answer isn't given even after watching the entire thing.

Watched Enemy yesterday, @Nemezijus, but will have to see it again before giving it a grade. I really have to see if I'm able to understand the whole thing. That last scene almost made me scream, haha!

Yeah, the ending was really a mindf*ck and I felt the goosebumps when I saw it. I watched it already twice and it's the best if you already have some idea what is going on and the second time you can either confirm or dismiss your theories.
But I already call it a good movie if it calls you for a second round

A dark and eery movie about a mathematician trying to find a "formula" for the stock market with inspiration from the number Pi. It's all shot in dark/white with heavy grains to give it a very suspence atmosphere. It's shot in typical Darren Aronofsky style with lots of close-ups, fast frames and twisted angles. The main character played the role as a schizophrenic mathematician very well and very believable.
