A mysterious man befriends a young girl with troubled family. When she gets taken by a criminal gang he finds himself pulled into a world he thought he left behind.
A real mixed bag, I genuinely got emotional at parts but then I had to laugh at others. It's as if the movie wasn't sure whether it wanted to be a tear jerker or a comedy.
Some of the scenes are really contrived and the mood feels forced but others carry a gravity of greater sincerity, this disparity means I have to lower the score ultimately.
Great choreographed fight scenes with some wooden writing and characters. So cliched you might want to reach for the sick bucket, then you get sucked back into the action by a genuine moment. Really not sure what to make of it other than to say if you enjoy action it's worth watching. If you're looking for a timeless story think twice.

22 jump street. Not a movie that will be remembered but i had some great laughs :D
Just had to rewatch The Man From Earth. For some reason this movie just gets better and better for me and hits me. It's amazingly simple yet done absolutely perfect. It's slowly becoming one of my favorite movies. David Lee Smiths acting in this one is incredible.

Theres not really much to say as you know exactly what you're going to get with these sort of films. Although the first 45 minutes mislead me a little - in relation to the monster - the story line is thin as a piece of string and the actors are hollow, but the credit where credit where credit is due: the CGI is astonishing and action scenes are fun. Ideal viewing if you're looking for something that requires little or no thinking. 7/10

One I am glad I really gave time to, a film that had me in stiches at points, come the end moving me to tears. A story with real range and dynamism.
A story of 4 friends growing up and how their decisions shape the future ahead for each other. A story of friendship and what it means.

Slow moving romantic thriller directed by Crash director and screenwriter, Paul Haggis. Similar to his previous films it involves 3 intertwining love stories that play out rather slowly. The subject mater is bleak but the acting and characters have a nice depth and are portrayed well - and expectedly so given the stellar cast. At times it felt needlessly over drawn and i only really stayed with it in the hope that when the stories finally came together it would seem worthwhile, while the plot twist made me smile it wasn't really what i was hoping for. 7/10

Not one I am going to rate, out of respect for the kind of movie it is. One that is different things to different people. All I can say is that it is one of the most rounded and well acted movies I've seen and whether you're young or old I hope you see this and take something from the experience.
