Luminosity Trance Gathering @ WesterUnie, Amsterdam 14-02-2014 (before ASOT 650)

The winter has barely started or a new Luminosity Trance Gathering event is already there to warm you up! For the first time in Luminosity history we have a Valentine's Day Special.

We are pleased to reveal that Luminosity Trance Gathering (Before ASOT 650) will take place at the Westerunie & Westerliefde venue in Amsterdam on 14-02-2014. A Trance party at Valentines, to celebrate this beautiful "Valentines Night" with your loved ones.

The venue the Westerunie is located in the center of Amsterdam very easy reachable by public transport if you travel from Utrecht or any other place you're staying at during this trance weekend. Trains in Holland run all night so no reason to miss this amazing event. Luminosity will make sure this Pre-party will be of Luminosity quality so lasers and visuals will be amazing as you are used to.

Good to know, as I wasn't sure whether to arrive a day early or just arrive the day of ASOT. Will purchase my tickets at the end of this month and my flights when I get back from Amsterdam in November.

Several reasons really!

1. A few year ago we did a poll asking the people which city they preferred, where Amsterdam was the preferred city.
2. The WesterUnie is one of our favorite indoor venue's out there. It's intimate but big enough to offer enough space. We find them prof to work with, there is a proper sound system and the venue is good to work with using other lights, for example lasers, LED etc.
3. WesterUnie gives the opportunity to work with multiple area's, we are currently considering expanding to 3 area's so we have space to add more talents.
4. Often venue's don't meet to the appointments we make in advance. They either have a dissapointing crew, sound system, or send you huge bills for things which weren't agreed.

All in all the WesterUnie is a great venue to work with which allows us to focus on what we like to focus on: the music and the atmosphere.

I was thinking the same "why not Utrecht", for example that place you had Before The Energy a few years ago.

But I understand that from the organizations point of view a lot of other aspects are important as well. :)

Do you mean the Poema or the underground venue with lots of little area's? Poema screwed us and we had to start a law suit to have them respect the appointments, so won't be going back there.
The underground venue went bankrupt, had a very bad acoustic and limited capacity. Loved the intimate and underground feeling there though.

No it was not Puma. It was on a industrial area, not in the center. There were 2 area's. Johan Gielen ended one of them. Orjan Nilsen was late. It was the year of ASOT 450! Sebastian Brandt played it in the smaller area. I remember some drunk people standing 10cm from the speaker and I was thinking wtf?

That means it was 2010 :)

Ah Central Studios! I think it's a nice venue but we did received feedback from people saying it wasn't intimate enough. Maybe it's more difficult to create that special atmosphere there.

The travel from Utrecht to Amsterdam takes less than 30 minutes anyway so I hope we can confirm a line-up interesting enough to make sure that those who stay in Utrecht will be tempted to join the fun as well.

You also did a poll this year, and most people preferred Utrecht? I understand that you still pick Westerunie though.. I just hoped it would be in Utrecht. Now I can still go by bike, but I will also have to take the train. :p

Facebook of Luminosity on October 4: Utrecht/Amsterdam and classics yes/no. All (okay 50%) of the people say 'Utrecht and classics'. So at least stick to the classics! :p

Oh that post, wasn't a poll but indeed :-) Don't believe it was 50/50 but Amsterdam it is!

Classics has been asked but not confirmed, our main concept is to focus on supporting fresh and upcoming names. We can do classics in an extra (3rd) area but that's still open to be decided :P Some people don't like 3 area's ...
