@Gagi Yes seems to be the best idea since you came up witj the whole thing. :)
See if this thread is working. I am really seriously looking for people who wants to do collabs or give me some advices on my tracks. I know my weak side is the technical-mixing and mastering skills of trance music. The knowledge about musictheory etc. I think I do have (not that I canīt learn anything, in contrary) But I have to improve my weaknesses, and I am eager to learn. I really hope to find people hear who share their information. Platforms like soundcloud and fb are developed into promotiontools. Thatīs not bad and I use them a lot, but itīs always like for a like. And I donīt want to be pleased. I want to learn. So here is a track, not finished, work in progress and I hope to get critics on it. Donīt be shy :). Or if people want to try to make a remix of it or put their own ideas in it, send me a pm. I can give the midi or wavfiles. here is the link: https://soundcloud.com/johnpoot/high...hno-trance-mix
Thanks and have a good day, John aka J2P
if you have whatsapp pm me @J2P
IF i can find the time i'm thinking of finishing this track...what do you guys think so far?
i would of course rework this since i have learned MANY new techniques in synthesis n shit like that n whatever whatever...
So will it be a Youtube Channel or a Soundcloud Channel?
I think YouTube will be smarter choice.
Then we would need some sort of a Music video, dont you think?
I like Youtube a lot, but prefer Soundcloud. Its much more simple and it had a Playlist function. I know Youtube had it aswell, but then it come to the Music video thing again. Who would make them? Its a lot of work making a Music video for every track.
But, theres always ways around it like Making a simple "still picture" video with the TranceFix logo on it ot something, used in every track. Just an idea. :)
Not really video per-se. Look at Going Quantum podcast on YouTube.
https://www.youtube.com/user/goingquantum
@J2P, I like your work, it is only that your instruments sometimes do not go on-beat, sounds like their tempo is slower or faster.
Now, YouTube is better since we won't be limited to 2 hours of tracks. SoundCloud is better since it loads faster (people who have occasionally slow internet like myself know what I'm talking about), and it is simpler. So, you can decide. We can even make a poll, so it is easier to see who wants what. Maybe even both, on SC short previews, on YT the full tracks. For pictures or videos, someone can make something like on GQ podcast videos. Some beautiful picture (maybe sunset or something like that), small TF logo, name of the artist, name of the track, and so on...
It would be great if someone could create an intro track/jingle that will play before the main track plays, something short, not longer than 30 seconds. That would represent TF as a forum, at least that's how I see it.
Another thing, how often will we upload our works, will it be weekly, bi-monthly, monthly? If we upload all we got right away, it may probably be a long time before we upload something new.
How would we even decide what's for uploading and what's not? If I get the productions in my mail, I'll be the only one who decides, isn't that a bit odd? How could we create something private that only we can see and decide? Would only full tracks go or maybe even some kind of promos and short previews?
And maybe it would be cool if us all made a track that would be the anthem of TF, the combination of all our sounds. Just contemplating...
But YouTube is more popular. :icon_mrgreen: We can use both doh.
I guess either bi-monthly or monthly. Two weeks is a bit to short imo, but that depends on the person and how fast he/she produce i guess.
And i think we should have a poll to see what members likes best, YT or SC :)
And one more thing @Gagi maybe we should choose 1 or more members to "run" this Channel.
Just one person (yourself) is not enough imo.
1 person who upload the tracks to Youtube, and one to soundcloud?
And maybe an amateur designer for the Picture / trancefix logo thing for the tracks uploadrd on Youtube. Just a couple of ideas. :)
I'm all ears, suggest what you think is necessary, all of us can work on this if everybody wants to, I don't have the slightest problem with it. This will be TF music productions channel, not just my channel. :) Designer is needed, if it's going to be on YT we have to have some sort of picture. I myself don't know anything around Photoshop, even my Paint skills aren't that good. :D The more people give their contributions, the better. I offer my services for running the thing (along with someone else, of course), for my productions, for giving ideas...
@Denebola, you mean "like" so you would participate or?
I would if I had a better skill set. I haven't yet reached a level in my productions yet where I think I could make any meaningful contribution to such a project vs. some of the other people on here. (Then again, it depends on when you were planning to do that. If it's later on I could jump on board).
I will most certainly send my productions to this channel when I think they're adequate enough, you can count on that :flower:
ME ME / I DO I DO!!
On all the questonions in the first post. :)
Wouldn't both youtube and soundcloud be an option? Youtube generally gets more listenings (though my originals get more attention on soundcloud) but I prefer the use of soundcloud (on PC and mobile).
I'm not really aiming towards getting stuff released yet but of course extra attention is always welcome :) and if it helps TranceFix and it's users it's an extra bonus :)
some of my latest tracks/remixes:
I'm very (veerrryy) bad at writing my own melodies though, so if anyone has something I can use (be it as a Remix or collab or whatever) feel free to send me anything (midi's are preffered a lot ;) ).
The first and the second one are great (though you should remove the vocals in the second, in my opinion)! Could possibly remix the first in the future, if you give me the blessing (along with midi files :D). And collab, why not? Our styles differ a bit, but what the heck? What DAW do you use? :)

Anyone interested in using this as a trance intro or breakdown? send me a pm
I guess i would be interested in a collab aswell. Ive done it before, but it didnt go well. We couldnt agree what to do, and our style were quite different. To be honest, collabs can be a hazzle, but im interested in trying it out again, with fl studio users only. :)
https://soundcloud.com/johnpoot/chil...rancebreak-mix I changed the arrangement on some crucial parts. If someone is interested in using this orchestral part for his tranceintro or trancebreak you can pm it. This piece is completely orchestral-choir, with I think the right mix could be very epic, uplifting and emotional.
Cheers John
Uplifting is really not my style (I don't even know how to produce it :$), I'm into something more progressive. So, I'd have to say no.
@Halon, I also use FL, but I use Ableton, too. Well, I don't USE Ableton, I just have it there, don't even know why I got the damn thing. If anyone wants to collab, just send a PM. :)
@Gagi thatīs allright. I must I donīt think in genres and styles. I really donīt know what the difference is in progressive and uplifting ;). Just interested in music. I only recently found out that my music could fit well by this trancegrenre :D.
I did think about turning the second into an original instrumental track. But couldn't really get myself to do so. :p (I did save the presets though, for future use :cool2:)
Thanks :)
I'm not gonna make a midi any time soon though. Of course it would be an honor to get it remixed but imo it would be nicer if we'd remix something more recent by someone. :)
Sooo.. here's a question: How does a collab even work?
I'm on FL Studio too but I had to download a Registry Key to get the Pattern Blocks back. ;) Though I could probably get used to not using them.
One thing I had on my mind too was; how about having a private group somewhere for sharing stuff (like facebook)? It would make it easier to share material. For example: A lot of times I got the basis chords/strings for a good track but something I lack is a good melody to go with it.
But also stuff like FX Sweeps. A lot of times I just use stuff from sample packs, but I always alter them in such a way that they sound a lot different (by taste, not to hide the fact I got them from certain packs ;) )
We could also use that to share techniques or post infinished tracks for other to listen to and maybe help out a bit or say: 'here's what I would've done. . . ' and maybe share a sound of their own to be used in that track.
The reason I'm suggesting this is because you'll never know who reads this forum and I can guarantee you that if J2P were to post a midi here of the breakdown part he posted earlier it'll pop-up somewhere as an 'original track' by someone who stumbled upon this thread.
But having a private group would make it easier to share stuff (or chat in general).
Hi Maickel,
I should be more careful by what I post.Even if I donīt know of my stuff is good enough to upload it. I agree with you to create a FB Page for anyone who wants to share knowledge or wants to collab-remix stuff of eachother.
PS Tell me what the difference is between prog. and uplifting? :D
Just uploaded 3 demos of my recent work for Armada Big Room "Trance" enthusiasts :icon_mrgreen:
+ some more demos to download here.
Rising star is very promising!
I'm totally interested in all of the above! :)
My DAW of choice is FL Studio, but I work in Sonar too.
Examples of my work: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/.../TMV_Alive.mp3
I'm totally on board to help with this, if you want to give some direction on the "feel".
I also have some female vocalists I can record saying all breathy, "TranceFix Blah blah blah" or whatever you want them to say.
"Youuuurrr listening to Traaannccce fix collab mix... mmmm... I'm sexy."
For those of you that is collaborating, dropbox works great. :)

Working hard on J2P's Child's Dream :poowpoow:
The track's lenght currently is 13 minutes though, so I should probably work on a short version too :p
Any news on a TF Channel yet? :)
