Censorship of comments from artists/labels.

For the first time, I think I have been blocked for posting to an artists wall (facebook). I commented on a track which he labelled as a 'genius' production, but I had a different and contrasting opinion. I wasn't rude, but I wasn't constructive either... The comment was then deleted.

What do you think about this sort of censorship an artist or label can choose to enforce? I noticed that 100% of comments to this track are now positive, which more than likely means all negative comments are removed. Illusion over investment? Is this right? I feel feedback (positive or negative) is part of the process, but more important a reality that not everyone feels the same things...it's only an opinion after all. Fine tuning a false reality for public perception doesn't sit right with me...but maybe they are just trying to run a 'business'.

What do you guys think?

I think it is ok for them to censor on there own websites/facebook if they choose. People should know to look at neutral sites for unbiased reviews. Just my opinion

I also have been banned from posting comments on multiple Facebook pages due to this, but the reality of the situation is, at the end of the day its their fan page and they decide what goes. Some people simply open those pages to feed their self-importance and others to obtain genuine feedback and discussion amongst their fans and detractors. It's the old, "Its my ball and I'm going home" attitude.

If you want real feedback, forums are where you go. Its neutral ground in my opinion.

No I dont think Censorship should happen especially as in the case of above the comment being an opinion.
If we are talking of Music, Its like Books, Films, Paintings telling its own version of a story. As the whoever artist was I dont recall seeing the name, mentioned in the post made their genius titled work. However the fan in this case did not agree. Meaning just a simple case of difference of opinion.

If the artist(s) dont appreciate the feedback, theres two options allow the feedback or quit making music. Either way no to Censorship.

It was actually Askew who was promoting it. I usually wouldn't bother making comment but he was making a very big deal about the track. I guess I found it ironic being censored by him as he is very opinionated and critical of things often and publicly. Wasn't there a big rant from him 3/4 years ago about commercialised Trace??

To be fair, I was prone to leaving nothing but this http://emojipedia-us.s3.amazonaws.co...a1afcb8ea3.pngin their comments section.

When I posted my track on here there were two types of feedback I was prepared for, however I was not in any fear either way. Certainly would not go running to the moderatots and ask for comment deletion.

So bring on the feedback!

But you were not trying to make money and protect a product (the track), so there is a slight difference. It still doesnt sit good with me, but maybe that is their view on it.

Oh come on its not like artists (or better so called artists) social-media pages are the place for honest feedback / real discussion or anything that isnt 100% positive. Its more like a modern day advertisement flyer that should look like real people put real content there. Half of the likes positive comments etc. is fake aswell.

The big names have social media managers who take care about it anyways.

Well ofcourse it sucks but there's nothing you can do about it. I have my reasons not to hang around on Facebook.
