    Private Taste - First [2001]

Heard it for the first time on Pure Trance Radio 493. While I was listening to it (esp that arp melody) I immediately thought "this has to be from the early 2000s"...and sure enough, here it is: 2001. What a hidden gem!

    Chicane - Someone To Stay

Cover of Vancouver Sleep Clinic - Someone To Stay. He played it for the first time about eight years ago and I immediately fell in love with it. Since then I’ve been patiently waiting for an official release date. Then a few days ago Nick announced that it will probably never be released. In...

my bet is one of the two is the other's ghost producer

    Trancefix users at trance events

I made another quick trip to the UK this weekend to see Chicane yesterday at the Royal Festival Hall in London, for his 30 years celebration. It was a truly unique experience. imho to pull off something like that, you really need to be a musician, not just a producer or DJ. Here are a few...

    Trancefix users at trance events

went to Luminosity at the Beach yesterday, a smaller event (compared to the main festival) in a beach club in Zandvoort, with (in order): Doppenberg, JOC, Superstrings, Ben Gold Nice sets, I gotta say, except JOC, which I'm not a super fan of. He also had the longer set, but it was not worth it...

BT & Jan Johnston - Mercury & Solace (Sasha Remix) [Black Hole Recordings]

Personally I like it, maybe because I'm a sucker for Shah/Sunlounger's stuff of 2007-2012 and this reminds me a lot of that style (although Shah back in the day would have produced it even better).

KI/KI - Going Existential In The Rave [slash/label]

It came out a month ago already and leans a little more toward the commercial side of techno/neo-uptempo-rave-whatever-trance, but I think it's still worth a mention. A track that always stands out for me, both on radiosets and live on stage. Loving those 303 acid lines

LSR/CITY - burn it down [Emotional Intelligence]

New track by Gareth Emery, a little bit different from his usual LSR/CITY stuff and without vocals, so maybe someone here will appreciate it This is btw the first release of his new Emotional Intelligence "AI-free" label

SØNIN - Chasing The First Light (EP) [Enhanced Progressive]

I liked that version more tbh, the vocal suited the track very well

@EnigmaState best set at lumi this year, just like previous year! you absolutely deserve the mainstage! (much more than many others) about lumi: stages were better this year, but removing the free water stations after the two first days and charging 7,2 euro for water (in summer, under the hot...

Rank 1 vs Marco V & Benjamin Bates - Surprisingly (incl. Re:Locate remix) (Unreleased) [2001]

I'm probably """just a bit late""" to the party on this one :ROFLMAO: but believe it or not, it's the first time I've heard it. The original version was played by Rank 1 at Sensation 2001 Amsterdam but was never officially released. Here at the 20:45 mark: A few years later (around 2005)...

Juno Download shuts down after more than two decades

yeah, also worth noting that Juno Download is not affiliated with Juno Records since long time already. The latter sold the digital download side to an american company already in 2013

Juno Download shuts down after more than two decades

Juno Records is still active, only JunoDownload has closed. The sudden closure with no warning seems very strange though. Reading online, some speculate that technical/security/legal issues forced the site to be taken offline immediately

Juno Download shuts down after more than two decades

https://ra.co/news/85304 no warning, no nothing, just like that... an important piece of history disappears. Unfortunately it's understandable, though still sad. I hope the same doesn't happen to other digital music stores. Perhaps only beatport (mainly now thanks to less competition and the...

Philippe El Sisi, Roger Shah, Omar Sherif - Enchanted Dreams [FSOE]

unfortunately I have to agree, especially about Shah, such a talented producer (he was probably my favorite one back in the day), yet such mediocre/bad tracks these days... not just the melody but also the production sounds off, generic and also not pleasant at all

DJ HEARTSTRING & BAUGRUPPE90 - What Music Felt Like In 2007 [Steel City Dance Discs]

Not exactly new (it came out three months ago), but it has been growing on me. Actually one of the highlights of the year for me so far. Catchy, simple euro/old-school, but in a better way than many other attempts from other artists I've heard lately.
